Not sure if this is accurate but the strongest should be Supervisor of Astronomical Bureau, second is Lord Wei but apparently, he lost his skills so he is not strong in combat anymore. Then Yang Yan because he can fight 3 gold gongs at a time. Then the gold gongs. In the series, Xu Qian is still a long way to go to fight the big bad villains. But in the novel, he already reached 3rd rank and some knowledge of magic from Bureau and Academy

The smoke like thing entering his body and him talking to 'Shenshu' are major plots.
His spirit was assimilating, I think during this time. So his body went under deep sleep so much so his body signs of being alive were all almost absent.

Supervisor seems more magic whereas Shenshu is more martial artist like our MC.
Shenshu might be more troublesome!!
The reason I put him with the Supervisor here because he is not in peak condition yet! In the future these ranks will change.
