OMG! Why!!

Watching this series was torturous and you are essentially left with the question: OMG! Why? It really is that bad. It is bad from so many angles – too numerous to actually mention. From its infantile storyline to its mediocre acting to its awful and I do mean awful plot. This is yet again another cliché-driven trope-filled Bl that even if you have never seen a BL, one could figure out where the story is going. Oh, it had cute moments, but it unfortunately slipped into a standard formula that left no one guessing as to its plot, and frankly asking oneself why did I sit through this? Nothing was original in this story except perhaps the name of the vampire city which was named Thaiwlight City. Now that was cute!

Campy Vampires

They most certainly did not take anything they created seriously, and that may be why I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

The entire feeling of this series was unseriousness. I could never take anyone or anything they did seriously because it was always over the top and accompanied by loud music to create a comedy effect. It worked because this was by far, the best series the leads have worked in together.

I don't want to be the one comparing their previous works to this one, first off, because story wise, the three couldn't be more different. This is the only series, by the way, which had an actual story and a proper setting, and although most of it was completely ridiculous all the time, and although it had a ton of inconsistencies and “because the script said so” moments, they managed to keep the campy vibes throughout, so it didn't matter that the plot didn't make sense, I doubt they ever wanted it to make sense.

Even the characterisation felt better this time around, no more whiny, bratty or stone faced characters who have the emotional depth of a puddle. Despite being written as comedic characters, they managed to have some kind of personality, and sort of likeable ones at that. This extends to all the other characters as well, even in the moments where they came off a little over the top, I believe it was just to enhance the comedy, but character wise, they were written to have much more depth than I anticipated.

One thing which I absolutely hated though, was the lack of consent. It also happened so many times over, in almost every NC scene. Non con kissing, doing things while the other person is unconscious, it was atrocious. The series would have been better off having removed every one of these scenes, I reduced my rating significantly because of those.

Overall, since it had around 8 episodes and a truck load of characters and storylines, not much should be expected when watching it. Watching it primarily as a campy comedy may work though, where else will you find vampires with no powers using red wine as a blood substitute?

While a nice genre, I could not enjoy it due to the bad writing

For me the story felt crude. The final fight was also a bit strange, if you have the upper hand, there is no reason for a one on one. The "General" felt like a bad guy from a dime novel.
In the beginning there was a bit of mistery around "Patrick" but that was the only highlight story-wise. To have several couples in a show with only 8 episodes is not enough time to develop a real story and formost no time to develop the characters and their feelings. The main couple did transport some glimpes of affection, but everything felt shallow. The side story around an engaged couple with the body swap felt unrealistic and much much too fast to be believable.

While it was not totally bad, I consider the storyline really bad and unrefined. The actors could only do the best with the material they got but there was no way they could shine or had a challenging role. I had much more expectations from the genre type but was disappointed. It is not even a medicore BL show, it was boring as hell, the funny scenes were not funny (for me) and as usual with most shows it starts stronger than it ends. So, all in all, you should pass it, when you have not watched it yet.

Vampires?

When I saw the promo for this I was a bit excited, BL vampires. I should have leave this where it was, on the internet. The story was ridiculous, the so call comedy aspect of the story was ridiculous and even though vampires are mythical, I want vampires as I know sexy, fierce and strong. I really dont know what this was and I am a masocist, so I finished it. Lee and Frank you need better management because this is the 3rd show I watch you as lead and " three strikes and you're out". The characters of Zen and Ran story were cute but with questions.
So, would I recommend you watch, ahh NO but you can at your own sanity.

it’s giving low budget

idk what I expected. I was hyped, but got disappointed.
I couldn’t stand longlee and frank as day and itt in love syndrome, but poom and Patrick weren’t much better. Even though the acting and chemistry of all actors were quite alright, the characters weren’t well displayed. The storyline was also quite poor and pretty predictable. The only couple I really liked were the captain and the lieutenant (I was kicking my feet).
The drama had it’s moments, but I probably won’t be rewatching it.
I hope the upcoming vampire bls will be fulfilling my expectations…

Weird…

I think the premise of this series is very good but I’m not a fan of romantic comedy, even worse, all the badly done SFX and exaggerated acting.
this is purely my opinion and some might love it.
Yes the acting could be over exaggerated but it was very good at times.
I think the story itself has too many holes, too fast paced at important times too.
It wasn’t bad at all, just cringy, but who doesn’t love a small amount of cringe occasionally.
the main couple’s acting is a lot better than before and the series is still spicy although being short.
It was also very funny at times, and I don’t mean the cringe ones. The side couples were very lovable too, even the straight one surprised me at the end by not being overly cringy and stereotypical.
Give it a try.

Missed Chance, but if you like romcoms you will also like this

Disclaimer: I guess these romcoms aren't my thing, I also had some issues with the series 1000years old.

Let me say OMG Vampire is much better than 1000y. but not very good either. It's ok, not rewatchable. A show you can watch while washing some dishes or something (unless you don't know Thai like me and have to diligently read the subtitles). My relationship with the series is very mixed. There are highs and lows. On the positive side, the chemistry between the couples and the main characters is good. Unfortunately, the antagonists and supporting characters seem like foreign bodies. Also: why is the blood that Guv.Lux drinks blue and glowing? And the End... It reminds me a lot of Game of Thrones season 8 Finale.
So all in all, I give it a 5.5, but only because of the last episode, because there was finally the sexual liberation of Poom and all the loose ends were tied up.

What the hell is going on

Ok so how do I start? Well as we all know this is not their first drama. Lee and Frank were also in Love Syndromelll and Crazy Handsome Rich. I personally didn't like those 2 dramas and as I heard of this new drama I wasn't sure if I should watch it but I thought I should give it a try as the actors weren't the reason why I didn't like the other dramas.

Now let's talk about Omg Vampire:
For the first episodes I thought that I underestimated the drama,I actually liked the unseriousness and the storyline even though the story didn't always make sense. I really thought I would like it till the end but then Episode 7 happened. In this episode was a lot of non-con and when I saw it I wanted to puke and slam my head against the wall. After it happened they didn't even talk about it and just continued their lives. In episode 8 they also didn't say that such thing is not at all ok and just acted like happy couples.

Now to another point of this drama that I didn't like:
I don't like the decision of making Mix the ruler of Thaiwhilight only bc he didn't have a lover,I think they should have given him one. But even more I don't it's a good idea to make him the ruler bc I think he's too young and unserious to rule a whole city. Prove to that is that he ran away to human world with his friends .

All in all I think that the drama was alright apart from the things I just mentioned. If they left the non-con parts out I would have enjoyed it a lot more but with them in it I'm just really disappointed.

I seldom write reviews before a series is over but I’m dying laughing here.

this is going to be one of the most unserious series out there and I kinda love it. The Christmas music in the background has me dying.

and come on Thaiwlight like twilight… this is going to be loads of fun and I’m here for it. it’s a nice departure from leeFranks more heavy roles.

so far I’m enjoying everyone in the cast and have a huge smile on my face with how silly this is. and the cgi element is way better than i expected.

Overall: with a few changes this could have been a super entertaining comedy. I deducted a full point for the atrocious lack of consent (mainly in episode 7). 8 episodes about 50 minutes each. There was sometimes an additional product placement scene at the end and this review was of the uncut version (which was the only listing originally on MDL), not sure there even is a cut version. What I Liked
- the over the top campy humor made me chuckle a few times (Thaiwilight City)
- beginning scene got my attention
- good kissing
- sweet moments
- lack of voice dubbing
- supportive friends and parents

Room For Improvement
- the non con in episode 7 was horrendous, being in a relationship does not mean you get to do whatever you want when a person is sleeping (although this was fictional because no way would a person sleep through that), I think with 1 couple they were going for a bodice ripper vibe but it came across as more uncomfortable than steamy, they even had non con right at the end of episode 8
- many world building exposition dumps
- juggled too many plots/relationships for 8 episodes
- nonsense/'because the writer said so'/convenient world building stuff i.e. problem is population increase but then same sex relationships are worse somehow???, why wouldn't he just sleep for 200 years? I guess he was nervous about something happening in 6 years but given his age seemed unlikely, super improbable that would happen to the 4 of them at the exact same time and a ton more
- Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy music, same music from their past series
- the music 'na na na na na na naaaaa' over steamy scenes
- episode 2 when characters argued about who would be the groom
- not a fan of 2 men fighting over a woman in het series and definitely not in BL series
- odd that Patrick went from intrigued to very reluctant to head over heels

If you like the actors more than the show then watch!

The Storyline in MY OPINION:
The first thing that I wish that the storyline would’ve gotten a little bit more correct and accurate is the age for the vampires in the show as well as also not making it a cliché vampire story when it comes down to vampire qualities. now the reason I say the age is because the parents are 800 years old, making their child 300 years old and he has to be 500 years old to cross over to the human world (Note: that he slept for 200 years for some reason) and the rules that have been set for crossing into the human world is roughly around 1000 years but what does not make sense to me in this series is if he was a human before and was turned by a vampire so that vampire can become human themselves how is 300 years old and 800 years old and if we all know that vampires, most likely cannot have children in most vampire portrayals.

Questions:
> How did the parents have a child if they are vampires

> Why aren’t they showing the different errors in the show? (although that is something that they should more often in shows and movies anywhere so show growth and change.)

> Ages of Poom/Pure parents as well as him too.

Final Opinion:
Overall, the show is funny and interesting and it keeps me intrigued every single episode so I do recommend watching it despite my observations and opinions

Though remember that any show that you watch, regardless, whether they have things in there that you might not like if you like the actors more than the show and the production companies, I suggest keep watching it so you can see the outcome if still can’t get with it don’t put yourself through watching it, but be sure to not make highly negative comments about shows and movies that people may love and cherish and diminish something they care for.
