A Spellbinding Masterpiece: Fangs of Fortune Delivers Unforgettable Performances
As a fan of fantasy, suspense, and adventure, Fangs of Fortune delivers everything I love and more. It's easily the best drama to grace our screens this year, capturing all the elements that make for an unforgettable experience. The cast, both male and female, are delivering exceptional performances, bringing their characters to life in such a spectacular and flawless manner. The chemistry among the cast is palpable, with their interactions making each moment engaging. The villains are brilliantly portrayed, cunning and powerful, heightening the stakes and adding layers of complexity to the challenges the main characters face. The beauty and talent of the actors and actresses only enhance the drama's allure, making it even more captivating.
The romance between Wen and ZYZ is beautifully complicated yet utterly heartwarming, while the friendship between ZYC and ZYZ evolves from enemies to true brothers, warming my heart every time. Their progression is a testament to the writing and acting. The dynamic between LiLun and ZYZ is another highlight, full of mystery and intrigue, unfolding slowly but surely. The backstories of all the characters are fascinating, keeping you invested in learning more about their pasts, their choices, and their emotions. The bromance and sismance moments are equally delightful adorable, bittersweet, funny, and full of excitement.
What truly impressed me, however, was the performance of Tian Jia Rui, particularly his portrayal of Zhuo Yi Chen and his dual role as Fake Zhuo Yi Chen. His acting skills are truly remarkable, and I was absolutely captivated by his portrayal of Zhuo Yi Chen. Every scene felt so authentic, with his expressions and body language bringing the character to life in an incredible way. Tian mastered both the subtle moments and the intense ones, adding so many layers to Zhuo Yi Chen that I found myself drawn into the story. His ability to convey complex emotions made every scene memorable, and it’s clear he put so much heart into the role. Watching him perform was a genuine pleasure, and I’m already excited to see his future projects.
In addition, his portrayal of Fake Zhuo Yi Chen was equally impressive. This character demanded a different kind of energy deceptive, manipulative, and often darker. Tian's ability to seamlessly transition between these two roles, with Fake Zhuo Yi Chen embodying the opposite qualities of the true character, showcased his impressive range as an actor. The contrasts were stark, yet both roles felt equally compelling, and Tian made each one distinct from the other.
Tian Jia Rui also looked absolutely ethereal as Lord Bing Yi, embodying a regal and stoic presence that instantly captured the attention of the audience. His portrayal of Lord Bing Yi was a masterstroke, bringing a sense of majesty, wisdom, and inner turmoil to the character. His calm, commanding demeanor radiated authority, yet there was a subtle vulnerability that Tian conveyed with such precision, making Lord Bing Yi both captivating and deeply human. The actor's ability to balance these two extremes of his character, graceful yet burdened, was a testament to his talent and made his portrayal of Lord Bing Yi unforgettable.
The storytelling is captivating, with each twist and turn of the plot adding new layers to the mystery. The way past events are revealed, tying into the current storylines, is brilliant and keeps the suspense high. The gorgeous costumes, stunning cinematography, beautiful fight choreography, and impressive sound and visual effects only enhance the drama’s immersive experience. The OSTs are equally moving, adding an emotional depth to the entire show.
Overall, I am completely in love with this drama and wish it would never end. I am savoring every moment of this thrilling, satisfying experience. The pace is just right neither too slow nor too fast and every episode leaves me eagerly anticipating the next. I truly hope viewers give this drama a fair chance and watch it all the way through to the end. It’s a masterpiece that should not be missed.

This is an absolute masterpiece!
The only set of people who won't like this drama are those who aren't into this kind of dramas. It's an absolute masterpiece, though started slow but it was ignorable. Definitely a must watch!Every characters managed to shine in their own way. And of course, Zhao Yuanzhou shone the brightest. The character managed to carry to show from the beginning till the very end. Truly remarkable ?. I love Wen Xiao's character too even though everyone hates her for being weak but that's the point of the ml being stronger. There's absolutely nothing wrong with her character.
Then there's Zhuo Yichen and Pei Sijing...the actors did so well with the roles. Our Baby Baijiu was a complete character but the actor did so well ...then Yinglei who didn't deserve to die ?..
There's Li Lun whom I still hate but his final scene managed to elevate some of my hatred for him.
The drama is highly recommended but if you aren't into this kind of drama, it's not for you.

BEST CDRAMA OF 2024! REALLY!!!
I recommend this drama to all of you!You should watch this drama because it's really good.
Don't listen to all the negative reviews about this drama.
watch this based on your preference because it's you who will judge the drama if its good or not.
This drama contains a lot of plot twists, which I really liked because there were no boring episodes.
I love this drama so much!
I like the plot and the characters here.
the casting is so good; they are all visuals!!
I love their bickering and when they roast each other!
I will definitely miss all their chaotic scene
for me, I really liked this drama because I really understood the plot here and I understood all the characters problems and their hard work
Like the male lead, he is really smart and strong, but he is a miserable person that makes me want to take care of him!! The female lead is so smart, lead, pure, and understanding. But I felt bad for her because she witnessed all her loved ones die...
I also liked the second lead here; he is strong, and you can actually learn from him!
I love their friendship here; they are ready to risk it all just to save each other.
The romance is so sweet and calm between the FL and ML, even if their romance is not physical touch. You can feel their love through their gaze and actions. The amount of trust and understanding for each other is so great. I like their romance because there is no unnecessary misunderstanding, unlike other couples in dramas.
I understand why the ending is like that but it still hurt me hhuhu but good thing we got a special episode that save us.

A beautiful cinematography but lacks essence
Visually, it’s a gorgeous drama but there was just something missing. Like I started watching because of the premise; a great demon wanting to die but meet people who might convince him to live. It started that way but turned into a crying fest along the way. It’s like every episode someone has to cry. And maybe that’s the direction the directors wanted to go with the drama. Maybe they just wanted to tug at our heartstrings. From episode 29 even with tears in my eyes, the only thing I could do was laugh.Firstly, Ying lei is supposed to be a mountain god; part demon and part god. How the hell did he die from those wounds? Like how!!! And please don’t say that li Lun roots went through his heart or something…. And then everyone just stood there watching. I mean fine, the poison acted on wen xiao so she couldn’t do anything. Why was pei sijing just there holding her instead of helping ying lei?? And xiao zhou was the next one…. I thought he’s good at fighting or holding his own…. He saw the roots coming towards him and just waited for ying lei to push him out of the way….. So you’re telling me that he hit the ground so hard that it took him so long to get back up?? Plus they had a sword and a knife and just stood there watching the roots coming towards them?? My gosh!!! And I’m sorry to say but I really had to laugh that whole scene of ying lei dying……
Secondly, it’s like going from a good fighting scene where the drama picks up back to a crying fest. At first I didn’t like li Lun because of his actions but his sacrifice redeemed himself in my eyes. I actually cried with his and bai jiu’s deaths. Like I can understand why Bai Jiu died and the circumstances under which he died but I still cannot understand how ying lei died. And why do people just disappear from each scene….. like pei sijing and bai jiu were both together but when bai jiu was dying, where was pei sijing?
FOF is beautifully made but that alone isn’t good enough. Some persons might enjoy it but I would have like things to make sense; at least to some degree. Like the last set of episodes had scenes that weren’t connecting. Like during the fighting scenes, zhou yi Chen had his sword pointing towards the doctor guy and in the next second, this sword isn’t being pointed at the guy. And this happened in multiple scenes.
I wasn’t expecting a happy ending but I continued to watch until the end although I had to fast forward sometimes.
But what I did like was the ost. Lui yuning once again delivered and it shows why he sings most of the ost for various dramas. I also liked that ZYC finally understand what ZYZ was going through and saw that he didn’t have a choice of what happens when he gets controlled by the malicious energy. But I would have liked to see the others apologize to ZYZ since they easily forgave Bai Jiu for his deception.
It’s been a rollercoaster and now I’m onto my next journey.

MY SOUL IS SHATTERED BECAUSE I LOVED THIS DRAMA
I have to start for this drama from the actual start - The trailer. The trailer heavily leaned on the fact and made it pretty clear that this show is not for the ones with a weak heart. And after completing the drama I agree. I am not the type of person who cries when a character dies. I didn’t even feel sad when I watched Drawing Closer (a Japanese movie - it’s good) And yet here I am, I lost count of how many times I cried while watching this drama. But don’t get me wrong it is not only sad and serious it has a lot of comedy and team bonding. The characters are deep and meaningful. Let alone the main characters I cried even for the side characters. This drama is a journey. It takes you from enemies to friends to found family. It talked of love and family, of friendship and fate. It is beautiful. I don’t think I will ever have enough words to truly express the brilliance of this team. The actors stole my heart and the director made sure to make good use of it. If you come into this drama, Get ready to create a watch list because after this you will watch all the dramas the actors have worked in and all the dramas the director and screenwriter have worked in. I am not kidding.
Another think to praise is the brilliant cinematography and CGI. Shots of water and rain. Shots of characters. You realise how much cinematography affects a show after watching a masterpiece like this. The cinematography and OST can take a drama from 100 to 1000, and in case of this drama they took it to 10000. The OST is a masterpiece again. I will be saving all the songs in my playlist and listen to them on repeat… well anyways.
A drama is not just a story it takes everything to make a great drama and this one has out done it all :
cinematography- 10/10
OST - 10/10
Acting / casting - 10/10
Story - 10/10
Did my heart break when I watched it? - yes
Will I do anything to see the main caste again together - yes
Did I laugh a lot in this drama - yes
Are my eyes puffy from crying - yes!
So I am going to sleep off all my exhaustion and you guys can try out this masterpiece…

Bestest drama ever ♥️♥️
I just finished watching the last few episodes, and I cried a lot because it felt really heartbreaking to watch. How can this drama be so good? I’m so proud of the entire cast for delivering such a phenomenal performance. Little Lester Lin was incredible, and kudos to Neo You he truly shined in this drama. He’s not just a visual treat; his acting was genuinely impressive.
Everyone, including TJR, really shined in their acting. While Chen Duling’s character may not have been the best written, I think she portrayed the role beautifully. Her character came across as matured and smart to me, which added a lot of depth in certain moments.
I loved all the characters in this group of demon bureau hunters. Neo had great chemistry with the female lead and both male characters, and honestly, the directing did a fantastic job of showcasing the chemistry between everyone in different moments.
This drama has officially become one of my top tens. While the storytelling had its flaws, it was still very engaging, and I hope the cast gets the recognition they deserve for their hard work. It truly deserves the rating it got here and even higher! I didn’t comment much here, but it’s been nice reading most of your opinions.

The production and direction got me like damn.. the dark vibe and slow motions.. the fighting scenes.. those slow motions depicts the emotions of every character in a descriptive manner. Though we all expect the ending it was still eye catchy to watch last few episodes. Rather than being a romance centric story it really shows the shades of humans. How people make mistakes, how people redeem themselves from guilt, how people love , overlove , hate , overhate people.. All those human emotions were taken into a nice picture through this drama. Zhu Yan , Zhou Yichen , Li Lun these three demons really defines the powerful screen appearance again and again. specially with zhu yan that is no joke. Guy knows how to captivate every single scene.
And also the supporting cast from fei , qingeng to yinglei , peisijing , pei siheng, ying lei all of these people were soo soo amazingg.. everyone has their own reasons to do everything but deep down they all were simply lost ones. and our won goddess wen xiao, i think she is the one who endured most of the trauma in this story after zhu yan but she still remains pure and kind. she really is the baize goddess.
And Bai jiu.. that child actor.. damn boy the way he acts.. literally "director said act; but he heard slay" moment
And finally shout out to the director GJM.. this drama is unparallel for me in many ways.. one of the best directions and scripts i hv seen after untamed..
P.S. Love all the ships in this story

Unforgettable Performances and Complex Characters
I have never cried this much for a drama. Fangs of Fortune is a true emotional rollercoaster, and the best thing about it is the acting, particularly Tian Jia Rui’s stellar performance. His portrayal of Zhuo Yi Chen is absolutely captivating, striking a perfect balance between subtlety and intensity. Tian’s ability to convey complex emotions with remarkable depth makes each scene feel incredibly authentic, drawing viewers into the character’s world. Whether in moments of vulnerability or strength, his expressions and body language bring Zhuo Yi Chen to life in a way that is both mesmerizing and heart-wrenching.What truly sets Tian Jia Rui apart is his versatility. As Fake Zhuo Yi Chen, he effortlessly transitions into a completely different persona, showcasing an impressive range that highlights his acting prowess. The contrast between the true Zhuo Yi Chen and Fake Zhuo Yi Chen is striking, and Tian navigates this dual role with such precision that each character feels distinct yet equally compelling. Additionally, his ethereal performance as Lord Bing Yi adds an entirely new dimension to the drama. With a regal presence and subtle vulnerability, Tian perfectly captures the character's internal struggle, further elevating the overall experience of the show.
The supporting characters in Fangs of Fortune are equally captivating. I loved Both YL and BJ characters.
Also The complex dynamics between Wen and ZYZ offer an emotionally rich, evolving relationship that is both touching and complicated. Their romance, filled with obstacles, never feels forced, and the way they navigate their feelings is both beautiful and heartwarming. Meanwhile, the friendship between ZYC and ZYZ, which transitions from adversaries to brothers, is equally compelling. The chemistry between the entire team, including the villains, is electric. The relationships are multi-faceted, each character bringing something unique to the story. From the tender bromance to the intriguing tension between LiLun and ZYZ, every interaction feels meaningful, adding depth to the plot.
The backstories of the characters also add to the richness of the show, with each reveal offering insights into their motivations and shaping their actions. The emotional complexity of the entire cast is on full display, especially in moments of intense conflict or tenderness. The way the characters express their emotions, whether through small gestures or grand declarations, draws the audience deeper into their lives. The villains, cunning and powerful, add layers of intrigue, making the stakes feel even higher and the challenges more daunting. Overall, Fangs of Fortune is a gripping drama, and the stellar performances across the board make it an unforgettable viewing experience.

Make the most out of Life & Leave no room for Regret ; be like Zhao Yuanzhou
The story of Fangs of Fortune circles around the great demon Zhao Yuanzhou or Zhu Yan who became a complete outcast. Hated by mortals and feared by the world. He was trapped by his own darkness, constantly eaten by guilt and depression. Having been the vessel of malicious energy, he knew his existence to be a destruction to the world. On his journey to seek the end of his life, an unexpected turn of events made him see the light for the first time. He found friendship, love, and family through the members of the demon hunting team. It wasn't an easy feat, but the great demon Zhao Yuanzhou's kindness managed to warm up the hearts of each members of the demon hunting team - especially Zhou Yichen who hated him to the core. The great demon Zhao Yuanzhou found a new dream called "life".This is how meaningful the story the drama was trying to convey. Life is full of choices, with every choice carrying a certain weight of regret. Regret is the most painful and heaviest thing one can carry throughout their life, but life is unremittingly filled with infinite choices, so even if it feels like it is the end... life has its way of showing you a silver lining through these infinite choices. As infinite choices lead to infinite chances, even if fate comes knocking at your door and leaving you with no choice at all, in this world filled with people who often regards these choices of less importance - driven by their greed, obsession, hatred or ignorance, be like Zhao Yuanzhou who made the most out of his life and left with no regret.
There might have been noticeable cons but it doesn't take away from the beautiful and meaningful story it had presented. The moral principles and life aspects portrayed makes this more than just a simple fantasy drama, it's an impactful tale that speaks to your heart.
It's my first time seeing the actors performances in this drama. I am not familiar with any of them. However, I think they all delivered their roles well.
Neo Hou's acting spoke on another level, personally for me. His portrayal of Zhao Yuanzhou and Ying Long were outstanding. He is now officially the first Chinese Actor that I have become a fan. Meanwhile, I find his chemistry with Chen Duling commendable too. Their characters love story in this drama even if they were a 'no skinship couple' was a nice warm touch to the very emotional storyline. I just disliked how some of their scenes together were cut.
I had no problem with Chen Duling's acting performance and I do like her character as Wen Xiao, but I think it is quite a pity that the director or scriptwriters had failed to give proper focus to her character, the lack of screen time is regrettable.
Aside from the main couple's romance. I also liked the new brotherhood formed between Zhao Yuanzhou, Zhou Yichen, and Li Lun towards the end of the drama. As well as, the brotherhood between Ying Lei and Bai Jiu.
Fangs of Fortune is definitely my favorite Chinese Drama of 2024.
The cinematic style, costumes, actors, and osts were top-notch.
I highly recommend this drama, as it has a lot more to offer.
credits to @xuehua for the inspiration and some insight ☺️❤️

A JOURNEY OF REDEMPTION AND HEARTFELT CONNECTIONSThis drama weaves a captivating tale of love, redemption, and personal growth, centering on the lives of its flawed yet endearing characters. What I truly admired was how the story focused on their journey and the pivotal choices they made. Some decisions, driven by their inability to let go of the past, caused pain—even to those they cherished most. Yet, the beauty of this narrative lies in how these characters grew, changed, and sought to right their wrongs once they understood the weight of their mistakes.
The chemistry between the main couples was undeniable, bringing a raw authenticity to their scenes. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized the drama subtly leaned into a queer narrative, which added layers of depth and nuance to the relationships. Every actor brought their A-game; their performances were not just convincing but deeply resonant. I found myself unable to choose a favorite character each one, from the leads to the supporting cast, brought something unique to the story.
Chen Duling’s portrayal of Wenxiao was mesmerizing her emotive range reminded me why I’ve admired her since TTEOM. Neo Hou's performance as Zhu Yan was equally remarkable, exuding depth and emotional vulnerability. Even young Lester Lin’s transformation from the cold and menacing Li Lun to a character with an evolving arc was a testament to his talent.
Fangs of Fortune left a profound impact on me. Its exploration of family, teamwork, and the consequences of our choices felt deeply meaningful. The slower pacing allowed the narrative to breathe, and the emotionally charged dialogues brought an added layer of richness to the story. The heartbreaking ending was a fitting culmination to this beautifully crafted journey, leaving me in awe of the storytelling and the incredible cast.

Tragically beautifully crafted; emotionally stirring most memorable dream the drama delivered!
It started with arousing curiosity of what the characters' lines and attitudes were heading to. Then, it became light, fun, family themed, filled with comedy, bromance, and romance every chance it can in every epi but gradually geared towards the tragically beautiful ending it was primarily written for.I like how it was well casted, performed, and written and the suspense I got throughout the story.
It is one among the no skinskip, no kiss yet engrossing drama.
The unique bond of gods, goddesses, demons, half-gods, half-demons, and mortals living together as a "family" fighting for the greater good of and protecting all living beings
The have destinies they couldn't avoid, the promises they could either break or fulfill
I also like how it showed various types of love and bond formed. The nemesis to besties, strangers to brothers and sisters, re-strengthened sibling bond, father and child relationships, and the romantic love.
These are the varied forms of warmth I felt from the story that were strengthened but could either last long or short lived.
On the other hand, there is also the wrong way of loving others, causing them grief and sorrow which happened to the villain and to what and how he turned out to be. But his hate turned obsession doesn't validate his sins
I like the bromance and the bickering of my 'brople' Zhao Yuanzhou and Zhuo Yichen and the romance of my beautifully paired couple Zhao Yuanzhou and Wen Xiao, the great demon and baize goddess as well as the always screaming and funny little doctor Bai Jiu, the wannabe-mortal-chef mountain god Ying Lei, and the badass mortal relying on her well-trained combat skills and signature weapon bow and arrow (hello Katniss Everdeen)
I like how their own stories, their entanglements, connections, and wishes were gradually unfolded
The friendship and brotherhood, the strong male lead vibe was very well shown throughout the story
The writer however appears to be more male centric. The story had strong brotherhood theme that I think overshadowed a bit the romantic theme.
Nonetheless, the injection of comedy and bickering in the epis even after some much dramatic plots made this ride an unforgettable experience.
The parallels in the story enriched the overall plot too.
I like the backstory of Ying Long and Bing Yi, the dragon god and the dragon slayer and its connection with ZYZ and ZYC but hated what was coming.
I like how the story of Zhao Yuanzhou changed after his death and was recognized for what he's sacrificed for: his wide understanding and love for all beings, his love for his besties, most strikingly his love for Wen Xiao that in all places he would return to, was his 'home' with her
The most heartbreaking is when the prophecy couldn't be stopped. One last sacrifice is needed and it had to be ZYZ, he chose to be the one. It was the freedom he had long wished for; however, at that very moment, he struggled, reluctant and unable to leave
I hated how the malicious energy and the BG divine power has to do with the couple
It was tormenting hearing and seeing him wanting to be consciously delusional for a moment with WX by his side in the dream of indulgence which was similar to when he endured the pain in his heart due to breaking the contract of staying with her a s a colleague, only to enjoy his imagination of a future with his beloved.
I give credit to the inserted comedy and bickering because it helped balance my emotions in a way, acting as the pain killer or anesthesia
Most of which were from ZYZ and ZYC interactions: E.g. When WX didn't inform ZYC of her plan and he took it seriously firmly standing up for ZYZ; he couldn't move on from the embarrassment and was pouty all over; ZYC making ZYZ not look like the great demon, the most powerful, him seeing though his acts; ZYZ fake acts, his responses, and many more
ZYZ and WX: 'The sound of jealousy' scene which was both sweet and hilarious ; the beg epi with his fake act being caught by WX and affected by her little tricks and ZYC rushing to the scene and slightly misjudging the situation as WX was in danger; the eavesdropping scenes for WX and ZYZ's words of love and ZYZ holding her hands act, dying act, and more; WX's with other's reactions to the funny scenes such as ZYZ kissing the previous BG's puppet act to provoke the thousand-year-old demon Cheng Huang (Ryan Cheng's guest role)
The story wasn't all perfect, I had my own complaints
Some instances:
Ying Lei (Xu Xhen Xuan) endured Li Lun's attack to wake Jiu was being possessed by LL; Bai Jiu (Lester Lin), the youngest, gave his best to destroy ever burning wood to cut the villain's immortality; women power moment such as Pei Sijing (Cheng Xiao) defeating her most feared enemy that became a more fearful demonized human through her own 'mortal trained combat skills' whilst Wen Xiao was often put to a situation where she'd be subject to criticisms. Others made important sacrifices, given enough screen time for the dramatic effect but she wasn't given enough moment to showcase her being Baize Goddess and its divine power, didn't have her own shining moment except for 2 scenarios but with someone else's help and had less impact. I think it was better she was interrupted while giving her all as Baize Goddess to save the human race and had flashback memories of her and ZYZ to add to the heaviness and impact of the scene. The difference prolly will add to the character's growth. There were also some prolly minor inconsistencies that may be overlooked by their editing crew that in my perspective could add to her character's emphasis
The last fight scene with Li Lun (Yan An) in his redemtion arc joining Zhao Yuanzhou and Zhuo Yichen, the CGI, the winged ZYC, everything, with its drama and all was epic. It goes back to the drama being more male centered in my view. I have no issue with it but even ZYZ's death, the should be most heartbreaking couple moment came out less impressive
Nevertheless, it was harder to let go of this drama with all its potential to be a masterpiece
I was glad there was a hopeful extra epi
The extra individual bts is a plus to the cast specifically Chen Duling (Wen Xiao) acting improved a lot
The main ost auto plays in my head whenever I remember their group dance, their solo parts, their voice, the individual focus of the camera, their group hugs as well as the stage performance of Hou Minghao, Chen Duling, Tian Jiarui, Cheng Xiao, and Yan An where they all wore white, their promotional dance and all clips, Neo and Jiaru funny short singing promo, and their online meetings where funny hardow TJR is always eating
The OSTS, BGMs, the instrumentals (the sound of coming death and insertion of comedy) the ending BTS/Group dance have been part of my unforgettable viewing experience.
Jiarui's make up was very elven, insane face card that equalled Neo's. Bing Yi and his new look as Zhuo Yichen and him riding the horse were fairytale-ish very eye catching (hello Legolas, L.O.T.R.)
Neo's Ying Long to his curly silver haired Zhu Yan, cub days, to his 3 silver striped hair Zhao Yuanzhou look were all flawlessly done and carried by him, very attention grabbing. Not to forget he had a scene showing off his figure, insane body card
Their acting performances were on point, Neo's eye talking, delivering hilarious as well as dramatic scenes, the fight scenes and the cast' trainings for those
I don't want to wake up from this long beautiful dream and await the return of the great "white ape" demon, a reunion with his loved ones and a whole new adventure with them
All actors and actresses in this drama are part of its success.
