Why Did I Watch This?

I honestly don't know what I was expecting, as.... it sounds like a very annoying story idea with the usual vampire cliches, which is exactly what it was.

I guess I just needed some background noise. I think the part I liked most was the theme song "This vampire is on fire, this vampire is a liar".

Basically, whatever they could get to rhyme with vampire was thrown in, exactly in the same way as every vampire cliche was thrown into the story.

The FL is a beautiful swan-necked woman who has become a harsh, closed sort of individual. She's cold, and the vampire ML is warm in comparison, even without a pulse.

I have seen the second female in several dramas before, and they did an excellent job of making her insufferable in every way from the very first episode. Not only that, but they filmed her in the most unflattering way they could, as she is a stunning beauty normally, but they had to make sure the FL outshone her in this. The SFL was written as the archetypal wealthy "enemy of the people". In Korea's socialist brainwashing, attaining wealth is the biggest sin one can commit, so the wealthy are always portrayed in the most unflattering and undeservingly bad light. Think of Squid Game and Parasite. It's awful to think people cannot be judged by the content of their character, as neither wealth nor lack of wealth should be the deciding factor of a person's worth or output.

The SML was really good and heartfelt in his role. Yes, I was rooting for the good-hearted SML, who ironically needed a heart transplant. Not that our ML was lacking as an actor, but I felt his character wasn't developed as well. It made sense for the FL to be a closed person, but I found her to be lacking in charisma. I mean, I've enjoyed cold FL characters before, but I just couldn't bring myself to care about her, and I'm not sure why. There was a secondary female character named Rose that had hardly any lines, and yet I liked her more than the FL, because she had personality.

This drama is a waste of your time.

so much potential but worth it anyway

Very good but could be much better ! forget the main FL , and enjoy the show ! nice locations costumes and cast ! The music is nice too. I think i would have enjoyed more "bad vampires", and also more vampire fights ! May be a little more time in the past could have been great, it was so nice and pleasant to watch the start.
I loved the bad vampire (Baek Seo Hoo), the second main lead and the second FL. They did a compelling job.
The most incredible in this show is the "10 years old "relationship between the leads ; as example, at the end, they have very few time left together, they know it, but they sleep in separate bedrooms (no hormones at all ?)
Ok Taecyeon is very good, but the character could have been a bit more a Boss in this show, and a bit more vampire too !

A SAD ENDING DONT WATCH IT YOU DONT LIKE SAD ENDINGS (IT WAS A GOOD SAD ENDING)

it started off good with the taecyeon comedy and all,but the chemistry between the leads just wasn't enough I didn't ship them hard or even normally,I feel like most of the PPL expected the sad ending but yeah it was a good sad ending not much of a disaster. it was rlly boring in middle of the episodes I wish that they improved the story. LOVED TAECYEON, it was a pretty okay KDRAMA. Some people might actually hate ig because of the ending but it was a heartfelt drama it was good, the theme of love and hope was good. And I loved how she waited for him, it was an pretty open ending no need to get angry about it.
And yeah I agree the story was a bit off and had its rough patches but it was an beautiful open end and a rlly hopeful and a heartful one.

After episode 11 it plummeted

It had such an amazing entry.
The episodes built up so well.
The comedy was good, the acting was good, the story was slowly falling into place.
But only up until episode 11.

After that whoever wrote the screenplay for 12-14 should be banned from the industry.
It was clearly evident as episode 15 and 16 only tried to sew back the holes or rather tears 12-14 made into the story.
Even the actors were so unwilling to do a story that was falling so fast.
All the roles, absolutely all of them were turned rubbish, the dialogues were desperate, the continuous element of communication broke so bad that no effort could bring it back to how beautifully it started.

I guess this is a trend now, start with all your effort put together so that it sells, but when it sells enough in the beginning, stop putting in effort and enjoy the fame for free as people will be forced to finish anyway, no matter how bad it is.

Horrendous, it had such great potential, could have evolved into multiple seasons without even getting the b of boring, but something terrible happened that ruined it.
Whoever did this should be cursed to drink half vamp blood.

I love it

I don’t care what people have said about it. My own opinion is that I love it. So so much. It is beautiful and sensational. I hope there’s a season 2 to be honest. This cliffhanger is intense but worth it. Everybody learned a thing or two and more. I’ll watch it again given the chance frfr ❤️❤️ I love you all for making it worthwhile. The movie was not what I expected I will say and that is what made it so much better. He is such a good man and a great actor. All the characters are worth it. I love them. Got me crying and I’m about to cry because of how the storyline was. Everybody did an excellent job. Thank you to all of you.

Could not stop watching it

It's been a long time since I found a K-drama that I could just not stop watching.
I just love this drama, especially the humor and acting. I have not laughed so much watching a K-drama in I don't even remember how long its been.

It was sooo refreshing to finally watch a drama that just made me feel good, i even rewatched several parts that was just pure golden.

The current average rating is so much below what I personally rate this, if you want a "lighthearted" drama that both got drama parts but especially some of the best comedy acting In a long time, watch it.

Bad drama

I feel bad for the actors for making such a bad drama. The drama spent 15 episodes plotting a path to having that ending. This is a drama that I do not indicate to anyone. A friend and I were watching and commenting on each episode, there came a time when we said, let's watch until the end because we've already watched more than half.

can you feel my heartbeat ?

Comecei a assistir pelo Taecyeon e me apaixonei pelo drama . Achei o cast muito bom e os personagens são bem trabalhados durante a série .
Minha nota só não foi mais alta pelo final triste do protagonista , eu achei injusto o Woo Hyul ter morrido e se sacrificado pela In Hae quando ela quem bagunçou tudo abrindo o caixão dele . Eu acho que dava pra fazer um final feliz com tudo se resolvendo melhor , até o Do Sik teve um final melhor que o protagonista rs .

Sobre os personagens em si eu achei o Min hwi um ótimo vilão . O ator tinha expressões muito boas e eu adorei a perfomance dele nesse drama , espero ver ele mais vezes !!

A história do drama em si é boa , porém , curta , não tinha necessidade de todas aquelas cenas chatinhas envolvendo a açougueira e a vizinhança , achei repetitivo .

Em sumo é um drama legal com um bom elenco porém com um final inesperado , não sei se reassistiria , porém recomendo .

Could be better with a strong FL

I came here for Taec Yeon and he didn't disappoint as usual, but the storyline, especially the FL is disappointing.

It started out really funny and then it just went downhill.

I really am so disappointed with the ending. I didn't watch 16 episodes for this. Story gets messy and draggy in middle, so I've to skip episodes.

What pissed me most is the weak FL. She is a typical "I have a poor life, save me, victim mentality" where she needs constant saving, and even sacrifice from ML. I don't think this storyline is "romantic" at this day and age.

If its not for Taec Yeon, I'd have dropped the show long ago, but on hindsight, I probably sjould just have dropped it and saved myself from the disappointment

achei que era uma comédia romântica

Comecei a assistir achando que ia ser aquela comédia romântica básica mas que ia entregar alguma diversão. Isso acontece no começo, só que em algum momento, as coisas foram tomando um caminho meio turbulento. Assistir a esse kdrama foi como uma montanha russa pra mim, uma hora tava lá em cima outra outra tava lá em baixo.
Nos 4 primeiros episódios tava tudo normal, aí depois deu aquela decaída e voltou a subir mais ou menos no episódio 10. Depois desse episódio, começou a cair de novo, quando faltava apenas 3 episódios pro fim, caiu outra vez e percebi que ia ficar lá mesmo.
Falando do final, era realmente necessário a morte do protagonista? Eu entendo o conceito mas achei meio incoerente. Porque? Pra quê? Qual a necessidade? E a premissa, o conceito do começo? Não sei a resposta. O autor queria que eu ficasse triste, que eu achasse emocionante? Minha resposta é: não fiquei e não achei emocionante.
Parecia que o autor queria fazer um final com uma grandeza maior do que realmente ele era. Não foi. A única tristeza que eu senti foi em relação a infeliz decisão do autor em acabar uma coisa que já não era grande o suficiente.
Depois de tanto esculacho, será que eu odiei o kdrama? Não. E eu não sei como ainda conseguiu me prender até o fim. É aquilo... é ruim que é bom. Talvez minha nota seja até alta. Mas, no geral, foi uma boa distração para mim.

Obs: ... toda a parte daqueles vizinhos se metendo sobre a mansão foi uma chatisse.
A morte do vampiro vilão foi tão rápido e fácil, e os vilões não tiveram um fim ruim como mereciam.

Comédie légère et bon enfant avec un Ok Taek Yeon à croquer

Heartbeat n'est pas parfait, mais pourquoi doit-il souffrir d'autant de critiques sur son final ?

Le scénario est assez léger mené par un trio de vampires absolument incroyable. S'ils manquent un peu de mordant, il est facile de s'attacher à chacun d'eux. Le vampire est une créature qu'il est possible de décliner pour le rendre moins sanguinaire et c'était plutôt réussi. Sans être gore ou violent, la comédie l'emporte sur le fantastique.

Mais ce qui dérange, c'est la fin.
À choisir, j'aime les fins heureuses. Par contre, je ne supporte pas la fin heureuse lorsqu'elle n'a aucun sens. Lorsque depuis le début (ou presque) on sait qu'une carte bonus n'existe pas.
Contrairement à des dizaines d'autres dramas, Heartbeat ne tombe pas dans la facilité en offrant une fin heureuse sortie de nulle part. En réalité, je ne suis pas sûre qu'on puisse parle de fin triste/heureuse. Car en fin de compte, ce n'est pas heureux, mais ce n'est pas complètement triste non plus, nous sommes sur un entre-deux assez intéressant.

Si la fin était une incohérence monstrueuse, ok. Mais ça ce l'est pas. Je pense que les gens ont décidé de descendre ce drama parce que la fin ne correspond pas à leurs attentes. C'est tout !
Je ne vois pas en quoi cette fin gâche l'histoire. Rien que pour le personnage de Sun Woo Hyeol. Il suffit de voir plus loin que le bout de son nez pour comprendre la fin, la vraie fin. Celle où tous les sentiments se révèlent. Pour cette raison (et même si 6.5 semble bas), j'avais envie de contrer les 1/10 qui n'ont pas lieu d'être.

Alors oui, Heartbeat n'a pas la prétention d'être un incontournable de cette année. Il ne révolutionne rien. Ni la romance, ni les intrigues et encore moins le mythe du vampire. Et pourtant, il en ressort une comédie légère et bon enfant avec un Ok Taek Yeon à croquer.
