Le You Yuan (2023)

=> Addictive, epic series, without length despite the 40 episodes.

PLOT: The ML, 3rd son (born of a concubine) disadvantaged by his father, uncle of the emperor, joins the daughter of a general, the FL, at the head of a large army. They have to fight against a coup upon the death of the emperor. There are many conflicts and intrigues. Eventually the ML's father proclaims himself emperor, but the plots continue for the succession.

PROS:
+ An excellent CL with Xu Kai & Jing Tian as a warrior, valiant, intelligent couple. Xu Kai shows here all of his talent, all of his emotions in a wide variety of micro-expressions. Handsome, yes, but also talented ☆✲ﾟ｡(((´♡‿♡`+)))｡ﾟ✲☆
+ endearing 2ary characters.
+ magnificent settings and costumes. Some scenes are superb (fight in the Throne Hall around the coffin, in particular)
+ a story written with finesse and intelligence. Everything is coherent and relatively credible.
+ A satisfiying Happy Ending.

CONS:
- Low quality CGI (green background too obvious during certain scenes).
- OST volume too high compared to the dialogues.
- Always the same actors who play the villains (it's sad for them), so the viewer knows from their appearance alone what will be their evolution ;)

+ des personnages 2aires attachants.
+ des décors et des costumes magnifiques. Quelques scènes sont superbes (fight dans la salle du Trône autour du cercueil, notamment)
+ une story écrite avec finesse et intelligence. Tout est cohérent et relativement crédible.

CONS:
- CGI low quality (fond vert trop trop évident sur certaines scènes).
- volume des OST trop fort par rapport aux dialogues.
- Toujours les mêmes acteurs qui jouent les villains (c'est désolant pour eux), donc le spectateur sait dès leur apparition qu'elle va être leur évolution ;)

=> Série addictive, épique, sans longueur malgré les 40 épisodes.

I'm a Xu Kai's Fan but their drama is really good and deserve to be rated 10/10 for me it was one of my favorite now. They've done and put their best on this project and i hope some will definitely enjoy this drama too as i do . The ml and fl have a good chemistry and done their roles very well and i was also carried away by the emotions, feelings they were showing through their expressions have really reached me and i also cried when the seen were actually too sad to bear but they have done it well providing us good drama and so much satisfying up to the end of the episodes with twist and exciting part of the story the flow were good and done smoothly . I congratulate for all the cast because with them doing their best to give us very exciting drama and satisfying then they did successfully and for doing their job well and roles .

What a wonderful drama

I haven't watched historical dramas in months because none of them pleased me, but Wonderland of Love
It really got me, this drama is simply INCREDIBLE. Seriously, it's a good drama, and the actors are also doing very well in their characters. I especially liked the female Prota Cui Lin.
I've never seen a woman as incredible as her in a drama, and I really like the way she interacts with Li ni, she's always up to their antics, I don't really like it when they fight, but I know that's part of the story. And these fights have to happen because that's what makes their relationship change.

Entertaining

I like the plot and pace of the story; it’s engaging, has a romantic twist to it, thrill and adventure. The chemistry of the main leads are awesome and they are fun to watch especially their friendly banter and schemes against each other. Jing Tian and Xu Kai's are on point in portraying their characters. It seems like Xu Kai has improved as an actor in this drama, while Jing Tian’s really brilliant in every role she played.

I like the character development of the main leads as the story progresses. Li Ni and Cui Lin have profound love, and understanding for each other, and it showed in the whole series; they argue, they have misunderstandings and have conflict but they were able to work out their differences. They are both independent, smart, selfless, have great conviction in their beliefs, and willing to give their lives to protect the ones they love. Li Ni's and Cui Lin's different background and upbringing reflect their personality and behavior when making important decisions in their lives; it showed their differences towards their views when it comes to politics and saving the common people, but their common hope and goal is to give peace to all.

Overall, I like the story, it's not perfect and some scenes are redundant but I really enjoyed watching the series. Xu Kai and Jing Tian's chemistry are great and heartwarming; it makes the whole series worth watching.

Très belle série, bien construite

Cette série est belle, on sent qu'il y a du budget. Les costumes, les lieux de tournage, le nombre de figurants, tout concourt à faire du spectacle.
Et les acteurs sont absolument super ! Xu Kai est dans son meilleur rôle, il est vraiment brillant !
Un acteur qui est époustouflant c'est Gao Han dont l'évolution du personnage est vraiment très bien construite et très bien jouée.
Les rôles support sont vraiment à la hauteur, que ce soit l'équipe des bandits, le 2e couple, la consort etc
Et enfin, un magnifique 40e épisode complet pour savourer un brillant happy ending !
La seule chose que je n'ai pas aimé c'est le personnage principal féminin qui est parfois pénible.

Made me a fan of Xu Kai

Don’t get me wrong, I had nothing against him. This was the first time I really loved him in a role. He’s so expressive and does excellent fight scenes.

The series could have done with a few less “another obstacle” plot lines, eg, Liu Changfeng’s incessant hijinks, the entirety of Gu Wanniang, the apparently most gullible emperor to have ever hit a script.

Overall, though, a great series with some great action scenes. The scenes in ep. 30 (Old Bao, tears) were compelling and gritty. The series really ratcheted up a notch for me there.

Couple of nits - no costume changes pretty much ever. One dress and we’re good. And, the soundtrack was not my favorite by a long shot - but not horrendous.

Salah satu drama terbagus di 2023

Gue ga tau harus mulai dari mana. Ini pertama kalinya gue nulis beginian.
Padahal ga terlalu suka nulis juga, tapi karena drama ini bagus banget, gue termotivasi untuk meracuni user2 lain khususnya yg dari INA untuk cobain nonton drama ini.

Dramanya ringan untuk kategori perang dan konflik kerajaan. Tidak terlalu banyak presure, jadi pas nonton dramanya bawaannya senang aja gitu.
Jalan ceritanya menarik banget, ga kepikiran untuk skip satu adegan pun.

Mengenai akting, gue suka banget sama akting semua pemeran yang ada di drama ini. Bener2 top! Parah! Aktingnya xukai superb banget disini. Keren ya, dia itu bisa "berbicara" dengan matanya
Gue suka sama interaksi Xukai dan Jingtian di drama ini. Semuanya nampak natural dan ngalir gitu aja. Ga ada adegan yg dipaksakan, bener2 se smooth itu. Bener2 ga nyangka kalo mereka punya gap umur yang lumayan jauh, artinya chemistry mereka di drama ini tu bener2 top notch!! Exceptional ceunah. Hehe

Gue juga paling suka adegan2 yg di take di dalam hujan, sumpah keren banget!! Slow motionnya, musicnya klop!
Semua aspek dlm drama ini tuh overall bagus. Dramanya recommended!!

cute historical romance

Wonderland of Love (2023) - 8,5 -cdrama

historical romance wuxia cdrama. With average story, but cute romance.

This drama got few very good characters. Main and some minor characters got quite good or unique personalities. At other hand at least for me this drama lacks in villain characters development. Almost all villains was one dimensional or at best two dimensional and overall lacklustre.

Romance part was playing big role here. I would even say its more like main story is that romance and fight for throne or wars between armies are just backround.

plot - Emperor is dead, killed by traitorous general together with all his direct successors. New traitorous emperor aint supported by all and :warlords: rise to fight for throne. ML is frontline border general without big ambitions, sadly for him he is former emperor grandson and as such got duty to quell rebellion. At his crusade he meets FL which is strategist lieutenant of Cu army. Cu army is one of strongest :warlord: armies competing for throne. ML and FL play cat and mouse mind games to compete, but slowly their clashes spark a fire between them.

Worth Watching

Story:
Good characters though it took a while to warm up to the FL character
Showed the scheming of powerful people in military, at court and those seeking power or control over people
Enjoyed the ML & FL banter, fighting and push and pull in the relationship...
Liked the hidden identities and how it unfolds
Good strong FL character who could hold her own even when "forced" to marry and ML character hurt so many times to save the FL, his father, his fellow soldier, his country.
Good frustrated with the emperors incompetence...very realistic

Acting:
- Both leads and supporting actors were excellent
-Scheming military and court officials all did their parts well
-The comradarie among his band of brothers was enviable

Overall:
The beginning is fast paced and builds story well. So pay attention .
The coffin and ending was a bit predictable but none the less fun to watch
The ending was good and complete...satisfying unlike some dramas that just end it.
Good humor and moments of fun within serious topics of leadership, bearing the weight of purpose and what you are born into as well as sacrifice for those you love

Excellent if you like great female leads

I enjoy this drama thoroughly. The story is, if not totally realistic then at least very beliavable while at the same time keeping the historical romance frame intact.
There are at least 3 strong female characters, 1st one warrior/strategist, 2nd army medic and the 3rd concubine who decided to fight the enemy from within. Not much hate in the harem; female characters have friends and colleagues and they mutualy support each other.
The love story is sweet and enjoyable; I loved the war of wits between the main couple that starts from the 1st episode. Their love grows naturaly and is not forced like in some dramas where you ask youself till the end why the heck does s/he love her/him. The setbacks are reasonable depicted and you feel that portrayed reasons would work for us, too.
Politics and the war are the big part of the story but for me, not overly complicated so they are easy to follow. There are even some traces of social issues (disappointed veterans-turn-bandits). The overall situation of multiple forces fighting for the ultimate power and ever changing loyalties are a faithful representation of the historical period.
Acting is great, not sure whether I enjoy more young couples' lively nteractions or the low-key, full of danger and deceit elder couple of chancellor and his lady.
Looking forward to 24 more episodes and how our main couple with develop and grow in such dangerous times.
