A polished multi-couple BL
Multi couple BLs often have the lack of screen time for each, like for example Y Destiny. We Are is a take on this genre. We are treated to 3 couples, with the 4th and a maybe 5th in the show. It did most the couples well, you can see their progression as to when and why they like each other. Most of them feels like real humans, with backstories fleshed out. Some would lament of the lack of adversity/ conflict in the show, but GMMTV knows what their audiences want: alot of FIN and fanservice scenes to make the fudoshi happy.Peem and Phum did not suffer the first couple syndrome: they were indeed very relatable and likeable characters, they grew up as the series progressed and they became more mature about their feelings. Thats good. But the slow burn was real. Phuwin and Pond's acting did not improve much, they had difficulty showing complex emotions. Hopefully this will improve in future projects. I am a fan.
Q and Toey's story was less nuanced and Toey's crying scene was one of the more better acting-intensive parts of the show. I think their story is not well fleshed out. Their characters characterization is not consistent either: their conversations were not tight enough. There was never any tension. Are they supposed to be the prankster couple? or the dom Q and sub Toey couple? or what? It fluctuates as the story goes along. I blame the script.
Tan and Fang's story is well fleshed out, though we never knew when Fang really fell in love with Tan. We learnt as the story goes that he's very Tsundere, the dynamic between the both of them is great. I look forward to this couple in their future projects.
ChainPun's ending was quite funny and I was sad that they did not have more screen time. I wonder if all the extra fanservice scenes like the one at the Beach could have been used to further their story. I did not mind how they resolved this thread though. This show was a breakout role for Poon. He was great, acting as that oblivious guy.
Overall, a great multi couple BL.

If I squealed at least once, it’s a good one
This is definitely not a fast paced series and I loved it, reminded me of the slice of life anime I used to watch!Loved the friendships and the way the relationships progressed slowly. It showed appropriate miscommunication and relationships when in college.
If looking for steamy watch, this is not it, but if you miss those high school series kisses then it is perfect.
I am a sucker for happy endings full of sugar so I wish they would show a special episode from many years later. Showing their friendship and relationships.

PhoomPeem carried the show.
This show has just come to an end. Here are my two cents.
This show follows the typical school romance plot. Lots of ships.
The show is humorous in many parts, I will not deny that. But some parts were just meh.
I came here for the romance, so that is what I will talk about.
QToey. Idk, but I didn't really care for this ship much. The 'let's make him jealous to win him over' part is overdone to death.
I can't say I was invested in their storyline. But they're fine. Not unbelievable.
FangTan is the epitome of cringe. It's hard to watch their scenes when Tan is acting like a child fawning over him. Outside this ship, Tan has no agency, nothing to add to his character. He is just there to be a love interest . It's just plain annoying. I cannot imagine what real person on this planet thinks it's normal to behave like that all the time. Fang could do so much better. I wish they could write a better partner for him. The backstory they wrote for how these two met was nothing special. Idk why the fandom is blowing it out of proportion saying it was such a huge plot twist. What exactly was so great about them hating each other before?
ChainPun. Honestly, the writers just paired them up since everyone else already had someone. No chemistry between these two. They give more of friend vibes. But still, no where as offputting as TanFang. That last ep kiss was a bit cringe to watch, it seemed forced as hell. They didn't seem head over heels for each other. Shoehorning it into the last few eps won't suddenly make it seems natural.
And the best for last. The only ones that kept me watching the show
PhoomPeem. These two actually have goals and lives outside each other. Nothing too complex, but it's something. These two are walking chemistry . Their interactions were swoonworthy, and the transition from enemies to lovers was natural. You can see how much emotion these two can convey with just a smile or a look in their eyes. No other cast could outshine them in this regard. The viewer could clearly pinpoint the exact moment they both started feeling a spark between them, literally even these two knew they mutually liked each other but waited for the right time to make it official, oof. I like that they didn't invite drama and were mature and honest about their feelings for each other. There was a third party involved to start jealousy drama, but that was shut off and communicated clearly. Kudos to this ship.
Towards the end of the show, though, the show began to feel lacklustre. It felt like they were just making stuff up to fill airtime as they didn't know how exactly to end the show in a memorable way. It's a decent watch if you're looking for the standard cliche Thai bl romance.

A feel-good show and a great display of friendship.
If you're looking for a slice of life show with great depiction of friendship, this is the show for you.The fact that this show has little to no plot is a thing you need to know before clicking play on the 1st episode. It uniquely revolves around love and friendship and i actually enjoyed it for what it was.
Were the 16 episodes necessary? I don't think so. Don't get me wrong i love a good slowburn with my pairings but if it starts becoming total nonsense just to keep the slowburn going then i don't want it. This is why i had a hard time getting into Phum and Peem at first.
Anyways, they did a great job at introducing the different characters and their individualities which isn't easy when you have a million of them.
4 couples in a bl show is definitely a challenge but i personnally think that they succeded at that (?), i just wish we didn't waste that much screentime on Phum and Peem's relationship when we had a whole ChainPun right beside them.
I'm gonna sound biased but the highlight for me was definitely Tan et Fang, their backstory was actually refreshing and surprising at the same time. Aou and Boom's chemistry is impeccable and i just needed more of them in every episode.
I'm not big on gmmtv osts but i have to say that the main one was actually really nice and it brought a great touch to the romantic scenes.
Would i rewatch this show? Probably not because while it was a nice watch, 16 episodes were a lot for this kind of storyline and some parts didn't keep my attention for long.

Feel good Series
Wholeheartedly enjoyed this. Very simple very easy, no (or almost no) unnecessary Drama, just a friend group that apparently exclusively consists of people who like men and their stories of finding to each other.I’m pretty sure it took me a few Eps to get into this but latest at around EP 4/5 I couldn’t stop watching since everyone was just so cute and I wanted to see how things progress.
There’s really not much of a story aside from the 500 couples getting together, but that was enough for me honestly.
Just a feel good drama for those times when you just need a cute pick me up.
I did feel like the last couple of episodes where stretched out a bit unnecessarily just repeating the same stuff over and over, so I don’t really think it needed 16 episodes, but overall I still wholeheartedly enjoyed this.

The friendship in it is just mwahh ?
I loved it. one of the best bl's. even though it lagged a bit, this drama gave me emotional trauma. I actually live abroad and is far away from my best friends. I miss them a lot. and while watching this drama, I cried so hard. I loved every couple in it. pond and phuwin was so cute. as mentioned in the drama, phuwin as pond gives positive vibes. it gave me chills. my fav couple would definitely be P'Q and Toey. they are so cute and fun. winny and satang did a great job. they gave me real couple vibes. and aou as tan made me laugh so hard. I was rolling on the floor. boom was so cool and handsome. I almost fell in love. my favorite kiss scene of this drama would be pun and chain's kiss in the last episode. it was so cutefinally, I loved the whole drama. it gave a wholesome vibe. most recommended for newbies who is not still comfortable with you know things 😏😎.
in one word. 'a must watch'
also matt, mick, beer and aunt pui also had many funny roles. I love them especially aunt pui. she did a great job 💯

Slice of life/ Friendship!!
I enjoyed watching the series on Wednesday's. It gave me peace and comfort and something to look forward to every week. Dont expect a gripping storyline..just think of it as a casual watch and i am sure you will enjoy it...!!My preference on CP 1. PhumPeem (enemies to lovers trope) 2. TanFang (wishing to see them as main CP)..otheres were kinda good but didnt stick for me.
Wish we could watch Aou and Boom in a mature and story heavy series soon !!!

Definitely a comfort show
I loved watching this so much, im not gonna lie. The plot is quite simple, but bro im eating it up. I love how the relationships are healthy and sweet. it makes me feel all fuzzy and warm inside.I looked forward to each episode, this was one of my comfort shows. it's very easy to watch and fall in love with the characters. the couples are so easy to love, you're literally rooting for them each time. it absolutely adorable.
so the question you might be asking as you pour down reviews is "IS IT WORTH MY TIME?" I say yes definitely, just know from the beginning that it's pretty chill.

We Are Family
We Are is everything I typically don't like in dramas. It lacks direction and plot, the characters aren't anything special, the acting is mixed, and the list goes on. But I adored every second of it. It's not deep, it's not angsty, it's not one of those dramas that you're going to walk away from rethinking your life, it's just 16 episodes of pure wholesome love and friendship.I'm going to say it again, there is no plot here and while normally that would drive me mad, it works for We Are. It's not breaking the mold when it comes to the story, we're back in the typical college BL setting that we can never seem to get away from. The Fine Arts major is a little more original though I have mixed feelings on how it was incorporated, mostly in that I don't think any Fine Arts student worth their salt would be walking around with a completed painting unprotected like Peem was in that first episode, but what would I know, I'm not a Fine Arts student. I just know that I wouldn't, but I'm also slightly OCD and a chronic overthinker and just watching him gave me anxiety. There is no major conflict or villain to shake things up. The few issues that do come up are dealt with quite quickly and neatly. The pacing could have been better, it definitely lags in the middle and towards the end. Considering the lack of plot, I think it could have been condensed into 12 episodes, but I also think, given the number of characters and side romances, some of their stories could have been better drawn out and the whole thing in general just made more organized and cohesive.
The key to We Are is the friendship between the characters and how even as they pair off, that friendship remains and their group just continues to grow. They are all, with the exception of Fang and Beer, a bunch of dorks. Adorable, sweet, idiotic dorks. You simply cannot help but to love them. Their unwavering support of each other is endearing and their "plans" are absurd and painful to watch but also entertaining in all their trainwreck glory. They mean well. And while it is mostly fun and games, there are a few moments where they have genuine heart to heart conversations, usually between Phum and Beer or Peem and Q as they try to work out their feelings. They serve as a nice break from the chaos and to solidify those particular friendships.
The chemistry between the actors is a large part of what made We Are such a success. They played off of each other so well that it was fully believable they were the best of friends. But while the buddy chemistry was off the charts, the romantic chemistry was definitely lacking between some couples. Pond/Phuwin and Winny/Satang seemed uncomfortable/awkward during their more intimate moments and while being hesitant or awkward during a first kiss is normal, it's not every time afterward. Aou and Boom on the other hand ate that up. Acting in general was mixed. Pond and Phuwin have both improved since Never Let Me Go, but while both are very talented in other regards, neither has ever struck me as particularly talented when it comes to acting unfortunately. Marc was also pretty lackluster and really didn't seem to be putting out much effort. Satang impressed me in a big way. He was so adorable as Toey and brought that perfect mix of cute and mischievous. So talented! Aou has blown me away in every role he's played and I'm so glad he finally got a lead role. He absolutely killed it! He was so annoyingly cute as Tan. He and Boom act so well together and are both so talented. I really want them to get their own series. They deserve it.
I really enjoyed the music for this series, both the opening and closing songs and each couple's theme song. I do think they got over played a bit as per usual, but I liked them enough that it was slightly less annoying than it might have been. There were aspects of the cinematography that I really liked, shots like in Episode 15 where Q is framing Toey's face with his fingers. I do think they could have found ways to incorporate their art more, but I can also see how that might have been a challenge.
I went into this series with no expectations of liking it, half expecting to drop it, and it's now currently sitting in my GMMTV shopping cart as I seriously consider buying it. It's not deep, it's not profound, but I think it speaks to the kind of friendships some of us may have and many of us wish we had. While We Are may present itself as a rom-com, it's the friendships that make it and leave an impression.

Wasn't expecting to be hooked on this one
I waited a while after the series ended before writing this review because I wanted to be as objective as possible.Went into this with very little expectation, seeing that it was yet another university-friends-enemies-to-lovers series by GMMTV. I was expecting a recycled plot (i mean it's engineering students again...) and lots of cliche but ended up falling in love with the entire cast. So much so that i didn't mind the cliche "everyone ends up as happy gay couples" ending.
Sure it was cute and fluffy, and the acting isn't quite IFYLITA or ITSAY standard, but some of the dialogue were well-written and tugged at the heartstrings. There were also great comic timing (kudos to JJ, Phuwin, Poon and Pond) and replay moments in the scenes between the MLs. Was pleasantly surprised by Phuwin's and Pond's natural acting and their amazing chemistry, and loved the scenes where the friends just gathered and were there for each other.
The script was well-written and although i did find the last 2 episodes a little draggy, i thought the series was overall well-paced with just the right amount of romantic tension. Overall this was a surprising feel good series (especially if you're in between other serious dramas) that didn't overdo the cliches, had well written characters (and bothered to develop these characters), good dialogue and a balanced focus on love and friendship. Peem is just such a wonderfully written character that you wished was real, cos everyone needs a Peem in their lives.
