The Sweet Blood (2021)

Okay for passing time or listening in the background

I file this drama under "If you like to listen to things in the background or you just really need to pass the time on your bus ride to school, this might be the drama for you."

Ultimately the plot is rushed and kind of nonsensical. There is not a lot of tension to it. The girl isn't all that compelling of a main character except for a kind of interesting backstory related to her mother, and the main guy isn't attractive in my opinion. He also just doesn't really do anything other than be there... The male vampire and the "convenience store oppa" are cute.

But the episodes are short, and the vocabulary is quite simple. I'd also advise watching this series if you're learning Korean, and as of writing this at least the series is free on YouTube, so you aren't losing much by watching it.

This drama has interesting concept, but it's quite weak

At first, I thought that The Sweet blood is an ordinary drama, so I was quite disappointed to found out that it only is shorter web series, because I really liked the concept. After watching the whole thing I still think that this kind of story would be much more eye-catching if it was a typical drama with the usual length and amount of episodes. The web-drama concept doesn't suit it at all and the episodes are too short so the whole storyline seems too rushed and messy at some parts. The plot can be quite confusing with too much and nothing happens at the same time. Also, I was expecting this drama to be action-packed or that it would contain more supernatural things. Because besides some bloodsucking, occasional red eyes, the second male lead's makeup, it looked pretty ordinary to me and the fighting scenes were also bland.

For me the cast was okay, but I must admit that the main lead was pretty weak and didn't have much chemistry with the main female lead. I would look at the vampire or the werewolf with her as the end couple, although it does makes sense that since she wants to live like a human, she would date a human as well. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of love triangles/squares...the main male lead kinda ruins this aspect as he feels more like a side character to me.

The thing that Yeon Seo and the vampires can tell a lot by smelling people's blood was super interesting. I wish the plot was more about finding the murderer and the human blood winery part when it was revealed that the werewolf is actually from the rival team and is double-sided, which would add a lot of interesting parts to the web drama. Especially when Yeon Seo is trained in wine tasting so it would be amazing if she and the others would use their powers and knowledge to find the murderer and then have that huge plot twist about the werewolf revealed.

Overall it wasn't the worst drama ever and I might rewatch it again if I was extremely bored or ran out of dramas to watch, but this definitely has a lot of wasted potential.

Just no!

I'll start with the good: it was short and didn't waste too much of my time. Some nice clothes, ummm, yup, that's pretty much it!
The story was weird and kind of all over the place. Who is good, who is bad? It didn't take too long until I just didn't care. It IS possible to write a decent fantasy script, but it was definitely not done here.
The acting was wooden and unnatural. Some of the blame for this must be placed at the feet of the writer, as well. If you don't have a good script, there's only so much you can redeem yourself, acting-wise.
Now, can we talk about what I considered to be the elephant in the room? What was up with the makeup and contacts? The makeup was poorly done (or should I say, overdone), and it was difficult for me to get past it.
So, now I've got to re-watch something I've loved, to get the stench of this show out of my system.

What I Expected.

I knew what I was getting from this show, seeing the full ratings close to Love Alarm 2 I was expecting this to be bad. And it was. But why did I watch? I just wanted a good laugh.
I'll keep it short, the time duration could've been extended to make it better, the beginning was confusing and also pretty boring. Actors are average as nobody's even relatable at all. Male lead was annoying and to nice maybe? Nothing to him expect liking the female lead, Female Lead was hella boring. Music is not even that good, rather listen to Run On's OST than this. Never rewatching unless I'm getting paid to rewatch the most terrible mdl shows that I've seen.
In total, I would've rewatched Love Alarm 2 over this.

Maior perda de tempo

Esse drama é péssimo em todos os sentidos. O roteiro não faz sentido, a atuação é ruim, não tem uma ost decente, até mesmo a fotografia é muito comum.

Quando vi: "série de vampiros", eu como fã desse gênero corri para ver, mas o tamanho do meu interesse foi o da minha queda. Percebe- se que não é problema de baixo custo, foi apenas um roteiro ruim e uma direção pior ainda.

A única coisa decente é a aparência dos atores, e o único lucro que posso perceber é o fato do vampiro bonitão ter ganhado papéis em séries BL depois do sucesso que fez.

Deus me free de assistir outra vez, também não recomendo a ninguém.

Bad acting....

The acting is not good at all... you can see it's acting... only Yoon Chi-woo did an okay job tbh. The others were like so fake .. sorry I have to be honest ... I'm surprised i even completed it... it was my first Vampire drama and I'm so disappointed... i wish they had more training .. like ALL of them.... i honestly don't recommend this to anyone because i think you will just get put off by this bad acting... even like the parts where they would drink blood, there would be not even a speck on the lips to make it look like THEY ACTUALLY DRANK SOMETHING.... I'm glad this drama was as short as it was... if it was longer it would literally be a waste of money, i hate criticizing so much but this was the worst drama i ever watched....

É um mini drama de quinze episódios de mais ou menos dez minutos, acho que é meu terceiro desse estilo.

Não tem um enredo e ao mesmo tempo é confuso, mas não no sentido instigante, o maior problema é que por ser pequeno não traz ansiedade de continuar, mas sim raiva pela interrupção abrupta. Como já disse, vi outro drama com o mesmo formato de dez minutos, mas lá os cortes finais dos episódios eram melhores. Então o problema não é só o tempo de tela, também o formato. Acho que os dois últimos episódios poderiam ser invertidos.

Meu personagem favorito foi o Chi Woo, um vampiro tão moderno, sempre roubando a cena.

Em resumo, não espere muito, os atores são iniciantes, tem estes problemas já citados. Mas é ótimo para passar o tempo em um dia de tédio e para apreciar a beleza dos atores.

Kwilight: Breaking Star Kim Ji Woong

I admit I gave this terrible cast a 5 only because Kim Ji Woong is mesmerizing as a bisexual bad boy vampire in a Matrix trenchcoat and he elevates every scene he's in. As far as teen vampire performances go, this is a better one. if you liked Vampire Diaries' character Damon Salvatore and True Blood's character Eric Northman, you'll like this character and actor. He's the only one who does a good job and looks fab despite cadaver make-up and blue contacts. His presence is felt and the show (well, 10 min long episodes) come to life only when he's on the screen.

Make no mistake, this show is bleepin terrible. The plot is some nonsense about wine, super special blood (that Gary Stu ML has) , love triangle (between ML, FL and bad boy vamp) and all vampires walk in broad daylight. I would not recommend to anyone to sit through the whole thing. Just fast-forward to the sexy vampire. He isn't in the first episode (so that's automatically the worst one), but his roles grows so I'll stick around to see what happens to him and only him.
