A different kind of BL

If you've watched way too much Thai BL like me, you'll find this one really different and refreshing.

I love the concept and it's beautiful to see how one can embrace the other despite the different personalities. It really shows what unconditional love can potentially look like

It's also funny each time Noah changes character, and I actually love both personalities

It's short yet enough storyline to watch, without being too dramatic or heavy.

Very well done for sth so short, I can imagine it'll be fully developed if its actually a longer series!

just amazing

The concept of this short drama touched on a topic that no other BL's (to my knowledge) have discussed and I absolutely loved it. It showcases a man who has borderline personality disorder, could also be called Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) , due to a traumatic event that took place when he was 5 years old. This has caused him to have two personalities which he switches between throughout the show. One of which is called Noah, seen as the protecter of the two, he is very cold and aggressive and pretty badass if you don't mind me saying. He makes sure that no one hurts Yu Shi, the other personality, that acts like his 5 year old self due to the trauma at the time. He meets Wu Zheng who takes care of him and grows to like him. I'm not going to spoil it but I was very intruiged by how their relationship was going to work while watching the show. Yes the show has some parts where it seems choppy and confusing, however, I took this as a way to highlight the confusing nature of Noah/Yu Shi's life. There is a lot of things that Wu Zheng does not know about Noah/Yu Shi and that's probably because he doesn't even know it himself because of his trauma. So this to me seemed nothing like a flaw and actually felt more like a depiction of the thought processing of both Wu Zheng and Noah/Yu Shi, which I thought was very clever.

This show seemed very real to me, no parts where I thought this couldn't be possible, instead it made me become more educated on how someone with DID may live or have a relationship with someone. If you are thinking of watching the show this is your sign to watch it. It is within my top 5 Bl's of all time and believe me I have watched a lot.

Masterpiece? For me YES

Uf, this was something I didn't expect. Tbh i've never seen anything like this BL. It really made me think about if I would be ever capable of taking care and romantically loving a person like Yu Shi. I really admire Wu Zheng that he didn't judge Yu Shi but instead he accepted the fact that together with Yu Shi there's also Noah and that he actually took care of him for the whole time. Let's talk about it bit more:

STORY: I love it! It's original for a BL and i think for any series overall. What i didnť like was how short it was and most of the time i was confused about if the situation happend in the past or if it's happening in the present. That was really confusing for me. Also omg- like what happend to the seconf couple? How did they got together again? What was the misunderstanding between them? Nothing. I have so many questions but no answers :( Also I was wondering if it's alright for the main couple to have a sexual relationship together when Yu Shi has literally the mentality of 5 years old kid...? Idk about that, when it was Noah, it was okey but when it was Yu Shi it was little bit weird. I guess we would have to talk about this with a doctor or psychologist to know better. Other than this, I really loved the story.

ACTING: Pretty good! It's admirable how both of the main actors played their roles really believable and real, especially Yi Da Dian ( Yu Shi/Noah ).

MUSIC: I like the opening song ( the one that plays together with the intro lol ) and the music overall fits there and it's good. Idk what else to say about music becauase i don't really pay attention to music while watching something so if it does not bother me, then it's good lmao

REWATCH VALUE: I will definitely rewatch this beautiful piece someday in the future. It is now one of my fav BLs/series.

OVERALL: Outstanding BL in my opinion. It's not just some high school students who fell in love ( nothing wrong with that ofc ) like we usually see in BLs. Also, I love ITSAY and it's just masterpiece and now I can say that Innocent is right under ITSAY in my TOP list <3

You don't need a plot for a good series

Wonderful acting, great chemistry and fluid writing. Those are the only ingredients you need. I actually appreciated less music over most of the scenes because it made the emotions and interactions feel more real and raw.

The story is as slice of life as it gets. There's no real overarching plot that starts and ends. It's a snapshot of the lives of the two main characters.

This is a sweet short series that I highly recommend. I feel like they also did an okay job representing dissociative identity disorder as well. Easily one of the above average BL series I've seen.

Biting off more than you can chew...

I really hoped this series was going to turn out good because the storyline (at least as it's summarised) is really interesting and unique for a queer series. Sadly, it didn't really hit the mark in the actual show.

The storyline was the biggest issue with me for this series: there is A LOT of ground to cover with the childhood trauma aspect, the split personalities, the romance arc, the self and family acceptance AND (to add even more to this) a secondary couple too (with their own host of issues!)! In 4, 20 (ish) minute episodes, a lot of these themes and issues get glossed over really easily or explained away in short insufficient scenes. As a viewer, I wish they had simplified a little bit just to give the series more room to breath (story telling wise). Each episode had such a jarring pace and feeling that the experience changed from watching nothing happen for 20 minutes, to watching 3 flashbacks, 2 big climactic moments and then a flashforward all in the span of 10 minutes. The overall incoherent pacing and story just made it hard to appreciate anything else about the series; I always felt I was watching the 'middle' of some longer show and I was just getting little cuts and bits and pieces. The main themes the show wanted to deliver on are so big and bulky that it needs time and attention to deliver and flesh them out well: it's one of those things where it if it's going to be done, do it well...or not at all. Otherwise, it just leaves a lot of confusion and ambiguous storytelling.

I guess that's where it being a "short" series is both helpful and hurtful: it's good it's only 4 short episodes because, at least, you aren't losing a huge chunk of time should you choose to watch it. But also, the 4 short episodes means a lot gets lost and poorly executed - leaving a very unsatisfying feeling at the end of it.

Another big nitpick was the introduction of the secondary couple (at the VERY end). I can't quite see why they were introduced only to have a few scenes and an extremely ambiguous ending. They seemed to serve very little purpose in the main themes of trauma/mental health that the series has, so, all they seemed to do was take away screen and storytime for no real reason. Not to say I didn't find them interesting: I still want to know what exactly went down between them! But the series is just too short to offer any kind of answer.

I do have to give some love to the overall 'look' of the series though! Despite some weird shaky-cam moments, the series is really beautifully staged and shot. I loved the apartments and the night-street shots, and all those beautiful scenes with the early morning light pouring out over the main couple. The camera work was well done for such a small production and it did an excellent job at complimenting and accentuating the chemistry between the two mains (which is another HUGE plus for this series!). The leads had such great chemistry together during the tender and romantic moments that it really saved a lot of this series in my eyes. The affection felt so wholesome and real that I couldn't help rooting for them! It never felt awkward or forced and even the dialogue was delivered so well that, when the moments were sweet, it was hard to not feel heartwarmed by them. If there's anything at all I'd reward this for, it'd be for the main actors.

Oh, and, the music was pretty fine too. Nothing too special or horrendous. Honestly, I didn't really notice it. The only obvious track is the ending theme which has a really...interesting sound? But, I skipped it as soon as it starts so I can't say too much about it.

Overall though, it can't hurt to check it out if you're interested but...I'd go in with low expectations. It's a pretty average title that, if you don't end up watching it, you won't miss out on much.

Soooooo goood

This series was soooooooo goood. I saw 4 episodes and am like what can be showed in 4 episodes but boy did they fool me. This series had me crying my a** of. Should it have been longer personally for me it got the point across. Glad that Noah got helped and the couple ? . It was really an eye opener, because it's never strangers but the people you know who ends up hurting you. This cast really had you intrigued. You actually felt what they was going through well I did. When he was at the Therapist and after when the Therapist explained what happened to him I got so Fireball angry

Wasted potential

The plot seemed interesting, and it had a lot of potential. But due to the shortness and weird cuts between the scenes, it ended up being messy and hard to follow. There were some flashbacks and then jumps back to the present, but it was very hard to distinguish when one ended and the other started.

There were also quite a few plot holes. Some that weren’t given enough background information and some that never got a proper conclusion. One such plot hole is also Shao Jie, who Wu Zheng is apparently getting closer with. I am not sure if this happened before the series, but we get to see very little of her, so it’s really hard to say anything about the two.

Wu Zheng & Yu Shi: I have so many issues with the two of them! A lot of their intimate moments felt very forced and non-con. The thing is, Yu Shi looked extremely uncomfortable most of the time, like he doesn’t really want to be intimate. And Wu Zheng kept pressing on, was very pushy on the topic. Which I disliked. And then there is also the fact that Yu Shi suffers from a dissociative disorder which in turn makes one of his personalities have the mind of a five-year-old child… that made those “intimate” scenes so much worse in my eyes.

They tried to address some serious things, but I don’t think they managed to do so with any of them. From trauma, to exploring one’s sexuality, it was all just so glossed over. It wasn’t really given proper depth.

However, I think the actor who played Yu Shi did an amazing job switching between the personalities. The glasses did help in distinguishing between the two, but it was also in the mannerism, the way he talked… it really showed.

We also got a second couple… who I don’t really know much about. I guess they have a past. And that’s pretty much all we get to know. Which again adds to the choppiness and unexplained plot holes.

For those who are wondering, this serie has a *happy ending* for both couples?

A question mark because it seems there is conflict in the making in the second couple and I thought they will elaborate on that. However, at the next scene, they already reconciled. Which confused me a lot. I think it is a supposed plan for a second couple, but only made it short in order to focus more on the main couple.

Now, back to the title.
Wu Zheng is one of the most green flag top I have ever seen on BL series. Add to that that his love interest Shu Yi has DID, it can be seen all throughout the short series how attentive and sweet he is to Shu Yi even though he himself is, at the time, finding himself and his sexuality.

Because of that, I give this series a high score.

Also, the series maybe short but it is successful in incorporating elements of a good film in just 4 episodes. The amount of love scenes, the plot, the acting are all there.

Consequently, Shu Yi's actor is very great. You can see in his facial expressions the shift of personality with or without the glasses.

All in all, this short series is a great watch! I deeply recommend this show!

UNIQUE! ♥️?

4 Episodes is not enough for this kind of masterpiece! To the Director, please make a Season 2! Such a nice story. It was unique out of all the BL i watched and it was totally a refreshment. I'm just hoping for longer projects of series in the future! These kind of storyline and masterpiece deserve a lot of recognition and hype from the fans! The most different scenario among BL world

Even though it had only four episodes and the time was short around 20 minutes, but they were able to portray the purpose of the series and the necessary sequences very well, and it was strange that with only four episodes, the audience was able to connect with the characters and understand them.


it is a special and interesting scenario that made me watch the series with more enthusiasm and I admire actors specially Yu shi actor for his ability to play two different roles he really nailed it.
durubg wathing it, I waited to see which character wakes up in each sequence to confront We zheng it was really enjoyable how he became serious and skeptical from that cute and unsecure character in front of him.


The process of starting Noa's trust in Wu zheng's love was very beautiful and special.
Their acting was interesting and beautiful compared to their lack of experience since then.
It had a sad and dark vibe that made the series more beautiful
In general, it is recommended to whom want to spend his/her time watchibg beautiful and unique story ??
