Perfect drama with life struggles and realizing dreams.

I have waited for this drama to come out because it has my two most favorite Chinese actor/actress in it. I was pleasantly surprised of how well it turned out. The wait was well worth it!

Storyline - Was really well done. It is about the struggles Yu Tu had between real life and his dreams. He had a lot of growing up to do and changes to make to become a better person in his personal life as will as his job. Jingjing was a great support and perfect for him because she realized his dream and wanted him to accomplish it. Whereas his ex-girlfriend only saw the money he would make for her to have a comfortable lifestyle. She said he was selfish but she really was the selfish one. She tried to get back with him only when he was seeing someone else. He was her prize where as Jingjing was his support. I really liked how they both handled their exes. It did not drag out in cat fights and face slapping. This show is a more mature show in that sense. I really liked that.

Some places it dragged a bit but for the most part I really loved this drama. It was nice to watch the story and their love slowly unfold.

Acting/Cast - Yang Yang has been a long time favorite of mine. I have seen him in many dramas and loved them all. However, I liked this one the best. He showed maturity and a lot of sides to his acting I did not see in other dramas of his. He really showed his characters struggles and emotions really well. Dilraba is also a favorite of mine. She is a really great actress and plays all her roles perfectly. Their chemistry is really great! I really enjoyed their romance scenes. They acted natural and it was flawless. Made the heart melt!

Music - one of my favorite but again cannot find here in the States on Amazon. Most of the Chinese sound tracks are hard to find. There have been so many I have looked for and wish I could have. But it was great music and fit the drama really well especially in certain parts of the show.

Rewatch - Yes, for sure! It is at the top of my favorite CDramas list. It is a must watch!

Aqui temos a história de Qiao Jingjing e Yu Tu que eram colegas no ensino médio e nessa época ela acaba se confessando pra ele mas é rejeitada.
Dez anos se passaram e ela agora é uma atriz famosa e ele um engenheiro espacial, Qiao Jingjing é super segura de si e tem certeza que está no caminho certo, já Yu Tu está insatisfeito e receoso com a carreira que está seguindo.

Eles acabam se reencontrando através de um jogo online em que ela é endossadora mas que por sinal é uma péssima jogadora e, após isso vazar causa muita confusão na empresa então ela resolve contratar um professor e assim arma tudo pra conseguir bem seu companheiro de partidas online por saber que ele é Yu Tu (mas ele não sabe quem é ela).

Com essa situação acabam se reaproximando e ela se confessando novamente mas sem sucesso por ele sentir que não tem nada a lhe oferecer.

Em “You Are My Glory” não tem vilão, nem ninguém pra separar o casal mas eles demoram pra ficar juntos mas depois que o negócio realmente engata eles ficam uma fofura, não se desgrudam e tem química pra dar e vender.

Foi tão bom ver como eles se apoiaram nas dificuldades e decisões um do outro ?.

Não é por nada não mas a cada episódio que passava Yang Yang ficava ainda mais lindo, como foi possível eu não sei.

new fav

One of my new all time favs. I still like Love020 a bit more b/c of all the really funny and sweet friendships, but this wins in terms of chemistry and slow but steady relationship building.

Dilraba was perfect casting for this - No other c-drama actress in her age group could have done a better job, she was that good a fit. Yang Yang felt like much more mature here than in Love020. Obviously its been a few years, but I'm grateful because the male lead in this how has a much higher acting hurdle. I didn't want a engineer cosplay, and I really wanted to fall into the fantasy of aerospace and he pulls it off for the most part. I will say the switch his personality goes though after committing to love is significant. It's believable in the context of his highschool days personality, it does feel earned, and I enjoyed it (lol) but it did make me blink.

Personally I think Yang Yang is the best looking chinese actor, so I would have checked this even if the plot was meh, but I read the translated novel a while back so I was really invested in this turning out good. I like this kind of plot where ther isn't any face slapping, evil mother in law craziness. There were a couple of small cathartic moments sprinkled in that were really well done, like the ex boyfriend and the boyfriend visit on set, but they were like little bonuses. They did deviate from the book quite a bit, however. For example she was close friends with the PA in the book, but here she was just a supportive assistant. The book had a bit more comedy too. Also the show was quite a bit longer than the book, but the added episodes didn't feel tacked on - just felt like an extended epilogue (though i did skim though them).

Music and production value was nice enough for me to notice. There were a couple of goof ups w/ green screen and music that make me laugh but they were tiny. Like there was this one scene where Yu Tu is writing a letter and the music is jarringly epic, and then cuts off lmao. Another scene where Jingjing is sitting by a window at her hotel room looking outside, but the windows to her back don't match up with the view. But I think the most annoying choice that was made was Dilraba's makeup. She's so beautiful, and that style of make up is so tacky. Maybe for a photoshoot but for an entire drama? Sometimes the lighting made it look natural, sometimes not. You get used to it.

Great drama in general, though if you hate video games, or find those scenes cringy your going to have to fast forward some parts in the first half of the drama, but even then its worth it.

Non pensavo che questo drama mi sarebbe piaciuto cosi tanto.

Una bella storia d'amore, senza patemi e sofferenze. In questo mondo che va a rotoli, abbiamo bisogno di distrarci e guardare cose belle che ci fanno passare qualche ora in serenità, e questo drama assolve a questo compito egregiamente.
Dilraba sempre bella come una stella, sta migliorando nella sua recitazione, riesce ad essere simpatica e molto accattivante, è una gioia guardarla. Lui è talmente bello che uno non fa neanche caso a come recita, ma recita molto bene!
Mi è piaciuta molto la contrapposizione dei due mondi di lavoro dei protagonisti. Senza che nessuno dei due togliesse qualcosa all'altro. Sempre uniti con amore e rispetto.
Ho molto apprezzato la qualità della fotografia, perfetta!
E che dire delle musiche che hanno accompagnato il drama grazie all'eccellente Xueran Chen? Un gioiello!
Ho apprezzato il lieto fine, non affrettato e arrivato al punto giusto.

Easy to watch drama about gaming and space with a great main couple

I wish my Mandarin was better because I think the meaning of some of the banter between Yu Tu and Jing Jing didn't translate well into English so sometimes I got confused but I still really enjoyed watching this show. Despite one of the main characters being a celebrity, the relationship between the ML and FL is surprisingly down to earth and low key. And in terms of conflict, much of it is internal and related to character growth - mainly ​Yu Tu's struggle between chasing his dreams and having financial stability to support his family, and this struggle to accept his feelings for Jing Jing.

I wish that they had talked more about their high school days because I'm so curious about whether Yu Tu had feelings for Jing Jing at all before or if it was entirely one-sided. It seems like right off the bat when they meet again he's willing to go out of his way to spend time with her (ie. commuting hours every single day and tutoring her in gaming) when they've only just met again and they weren't close in high school so I feel like there is some history behind that.

Although it was 32 episodes, I think it's really easy to watch. Their relationship isn't cliched / like the typical romcom, but they have good chemistry and cute banter and although it's cheesy I lived for the moments when Yu Tu's friends found out that he was dating a celebrity hahaha. After they become a couple, it does pick up a lot and I really like their relationship dynamic. He gets to pursue his dreams and she is equally successful and passionate about her career too.

I was definitely not expecting the show to focus so much on space and Yu Tu's job but the transition from gaming to space felt natural.

Wonderful and must watch drama

I didn’t have high expectations for this drama but since it’s Dilraba and Yang Yang, I have to give it a try. I am happy that I watched it. It’s a wonderful drama and is a must watch drama. I like The story because they really captured how tough and exciting the job as an aerospace engineer. Showing that one can be successful even if one doesn’t have a good grades in school. Overall, i love the main leads chemistry. It’s impeccable. The kissing scenes looks so natural. One might think that they are really dating for real. All the casts did an amazing job. I rewatch this drama several times now. Hope to see Dilraba and Yang Yang in a historical drama.

Don’t like CDramas but…

I’ll be blunt: Cdramas are boring because the story is drawn out for 30-50 episodes so they have to fill the time with useless fluff. Normally I’ll skip 5 episodes here and 5 there without missing any of the important story lines. However, every once in a while, I get pleasantly surprised. In this case, I wasn’t pleasantly surprised, I was blown away!

I adored nearly everything about this drama. It was my first time watching Dilbra and YangYang and they…WOW. The story was relatable: finding a way to make your relationship work in your own way. Not everyone has a traditional relationship. I watched every minute of every episode and looked forward to the next one! That is the highest praise that a CDrama can get from me and only a few have achieved it.

If you are like me and don’t care for CDramas…give this one a chance!

Read the novel to enjoy! Leads' on-screen chemistry hot!

Having read the novel years before watching and finding out the production, I loved the slow burn and steady "real people" kind of pace save for the drama having entertainment circle and gaming topics. And as it would if you enjoy reading while in the production on screen it seems dreadingly slow, especially back when I was watching it as it broadcasted.

Yu Tu and QJJ have a sweet and sincere pathway in romance and burns into so much chemistry portrayed by Yang and Reba. So much so I ship them together irl off screen. OSTs aren't especially memorable in my opinion but one thing that holds true to me is the honesty to the original novel.

(now if only they had a fate like my CLOY leads lol)

TOTALLY AMAZING!

From the start I’m anticipating this drama knowing Yang2x will be topbilled with Dilraba. I’m a Yang2x fan but not so with Dilraba until Love Designer.

The story itself is quite big and a bit different from the normal drama. I was wondering how the drama unfolds with their different status and I was totally shook how the scriptwriter did it. I love how the ML is not the normal cliche kind of character, truly love his flaws and insecurity and how he overcame it. FL character is lovable and not overrated. Love the writer did not make her dumb and annoying which is a typical cliche for Chinese drama.

Yang2x and Dilraba as usual knows their craft so well. They are totally into it and as the story progress as if they bring you to it.

I already rewatch it for the 2nd time and for sure I’ll be rewatching it again and again.

SUPER LOVE IT! VERY MUCH RECOMMENDED!

--- Short Review ---

I intended to write a first Impression post a couple of days ago, yet I never found the opportunity to do this because of work. Notwithstanding, I proceeded with the show lastly completed a week ago!! In general, I truly preferred it much more than I expected and the motivation behind for what reason is on the grounds that it's a long way from resembling your standard effervescent and cutesy iconic drama!

Frankly, I was truly drawn more towards Yu Tu than Qiao Jing in the drama. Be that as it may, it wasn't a result of his attractive good looks or handsomeness. It was on the grounds that I felt extremely thoughtful and surprisingly engaging towards his personality.

Yang Yang & Dilraba have amazing screen chemistry together, which made the story much more enjoyable and heart warming.

Coming from someone who's seen Kings Avatar, and haven't seen any of Dilraba's work prior to You are my glory, I enjoyed the gaming aspect that was part of the plot for the first half of the story.

The first half was primarily about Dilraba's character. The "glory" was Yangs character, while the 2nd half was more about her being his glory.

I can understand those who can relate to China's space race from a sense of pride/honor standpoint, however it was boring story plot direction for myself, but they needed to go towards this route to lean on the "glory" theme.

Overall I enjoyed their chemistry together, and would've loved to see more development of their relationship.
