A beautiful bittersweet story!
I first decided to watch this drama because it tackles a subject that is rarely seen, at least in my opinion. Have you ever thought how this kind of illness affects not only the patient but his family and his friends too? All the physical pain that the person goes through along with the stigma? Without knowing much, I think that it is very realisticly portrayed.I felt how diffficult it was for the female lead to tell her parents. She tried so hard to face all the problems with her parents, her friends and her loved one. She tried to stay strong, be independent and chase her dreams for a better life. I admired her for her willingness to live a normal life. She was a very brave person! She fought for having the life she wanted, not a longer life span. Although she didn't live a long life, she left at the peak of her happiness and I think that she got all she wanted.
What can I say about male lead! I don't know whether his life was more tragic than female lead's. His life came in circles. The actor did a great job portraying the character. He constantly lived loss. He tried to be there when female lead needed him, then tried to push her away and then realised how he was the one who needs her the most. I loved watching him help female lead and getting inspired by her courage to be true to herself! I felt so bad when I realised that the thing that traumatised him the most would happen again, but fortunately with a happier outcome.
I literally melted by the love and thoughtfulness I felt these two had for each other! This was not your typical lovey dovey story or a love being attacked by a villain. This love grew under the shadow of a sudden death. I felt that it was so unfair that this couple lost so much precious time from being together, but I also understand how difficult it is to plan a life when you don't know when it will end. Should you live only for your love or do you have some time to chase your dream? When death comes, you regret.
I had not seen male lead again and I have to say that I was impressed by his beautiful face!
I congratulate the people who decided to make this drama in 1998! This should be so new and groundbreaking back then.
I loved watching male lead run in almost every episode!
I also loved her male friend and her parents for supporting female lead in her decisions!
If you are still thinking whether you should watch this drama or not, go ahead and watch it!

I did not feel great romance between them, and I did not feel pity or sadness towards her except very little..
the Male lead was the most beautiful thing in the drama .. his personality .. his voice ..his style..
But sorry I did not feel that he loved her at all, but I felt that she was just a burden on him or something he was involved in.. Certainly it was attached to her after all these situations and years, but he did not love her, he was sad for her because his humanityp .. and I felt that he decided that he would give her happiness in time left for her is but for humanity only, not love..
Really, the famale lead for me was annoying, and she entered his life and devastaed it more than his life is ruined ..
This drama has 3 from 5 stars because of the Male lead, the music, and the first scene. Really, the first scene for me is "perfect".
