I have mixed feelings on this one

So I have a lot of mixed feelings about this drama.

Yes, it's cliche, but what drama isn't nowadays?

The MFL and MML are cute together when they can actually communicate, but the age gap doesn't scale in the back story.
This leads to way too many plot holes overall.
The MML is awful at best, and abusive at worst. He doesn't communicate, and his double standards for what is okay for him but not the MFL pissed me off.
The MFL and MML are both so oblivious to what is going on around them and others' feelings that it's painful to watch. They constantly hurt others with their blatant obliviousness.
The MFL at least attempts to communicate, but lets her feelings get in the way of actual communication.
The MML's female assistant (love rival) is a total witch. I was upset that she didn't get a comeuppance at the end for all her bad deeds. She is a first-class witch. She played her part well but at some point, it became too much.
The MFL's assistant, I mean the puppy dog following her with big heart eyes, is a much better choice for the MFL. The MFL deserves so much better than the MML.
The Secondary couple was actually my favorite part of the show and they got way too little screen time.

Simples e Bom

Olá, Sr. Gu é um dorama simples, tem todos os elementos indispensáveis daqueles clichês bons! Como o beijo acidental, por exemplo. Ainda assim é uma história bem divertida de assistir por causa dos personagens engraçados e fofos e das ótimas atuações. Esse é o sétimo dorama com esse plot de casamento de contrato/conveniência ou de mentirinha que eu assisto e foi bem melhor do que eu esperava.

A protagonista é fofa e esforçada, ela não cai nessa de casamento de contrato de primeira como em outros doramas (nem de segunda kkk), e tem um bom motivo pra aceitar quando finalmente aceita. Achei ela bem pé no chão, ainda mais quando se trata de dinheiro e trabalho porque mesmo quando o principal oferece dinheiro pra ela não trabalhar, ela não aceita e diz que ele pode pagar agora, mas não pra sempre e que ela se esforçou bastante pra conseguir esse emprego.

Nan Zhou, o protagonista, teve um passado traumático (nada de novo aqui) e tem fobia de multidões, isso o tornou uma pessoa fechada e um pouco fria. Ele prometeu para o falecido pai que se casaria com a filha de um amigo dele, e esse é o motivo que o faz ir atrás da Jian Qing, mas ela não sabe de toda essa história. No começo da história, ele é irritante. A Jian Qing não pode comer isso, nem aquilo, não pode fazer barulho e blá, blá, blá. Mesmo ele melhorando nesses trinta episódios, ainda acho que ele não merece ter ficado com ela por algumas atitudes perto do final.

O Protagonista secundário foi perfeito do começo ao fim. Mesmo quando ele pegava no pé da Jian Qing era porque achava que o Nan Zhou a tratava mal e queria que ela fosse feliz, e muitas vezes ele não estava errado ao achar que poderia ser melhor pra ela. E foi um bom amigo do começo ao fim, ele merecia muito mais!

Eu também gostei muito da história da melhor amiga da principal com o irmão da principal. Eles são tão fofinhos juntos! E claro, temos a antagonista que é apaixonada pelo principal. Ela é o tipo que eu odeio, na frente dos outros está sorrindo, mas quando viram as costas tá pronta pra ir pra cima de todo mundo. Não tem nada que me fez gostar dessa personagem, nada. Nem mesmo quando ela conta do passado dela.

A fotografia é legal e a música de abertura fica na sua cabeça mesmo depois que você termina (you are the one who makes me falling in love~), não assistiria outra vez, mas foi bom pra passar o tempo e distrair a cabeça. Se você tá precisando de um dorama mais doce e divertido depois de assistir um pesado, esse aqui é perfeito pra aliviar o clima!

Clueless leads ineptly fall for each other

ML takes filial piety to a whole new level in his pursuit of FL to fulfill his deceased father's last wish, to take care of and hopefully marry the daughter of his former business partner. FL is completely turned off by his romantic gestures as he hounds her with the same zeal that her brothers creditors have. It is only due to later that she agrees to the former and enters into a contractual relationship.

Both quickly fall for each other, but are too clueless to pick up on the social clues and a comedy follows as they keep getting bad advice from those around them. It is only through the lubrication of a "wee" bit of alcohol, that the two discover their true feelings for one another.

Both have enough problems on their own comminicating, add in a couple love rivals and a unscrupulous corporate rival to the mix, and chaos constantly ensues. ML's rival is somewhat sweet and pitiable, but still wanted to confess after discovering the leads fake relationship had become real. FL's love rival was completely unlikable. She did everything she could throw shade on FL and even went so far as to almost destroying ML in an effort to be indispensable.

One of the dramas failings is a certain lack of closure with regards to FL love rival. Yes, ML discovers how she screwed the pooch, almost destroying the company, but the audience never discovers how he ends up dealing with the black hearted tart. The two leads continue to live in her rental apartment, rather than move into the FL's apartment. Weird, right? One must also just assume ML wins against the corporate rival as that storyline is left dangling. One must also assume that ML's father must have been FL's Daddy Long Legs, sponsoring her throughout her college year.

Overall, this drama was sweet and fluffy, but it is not destined to be a must watch drama.

I went into this show hoping to see a cute fluffy romance that doesn't require many brain cells to enjoy. Unfortunately what I ended up with was a mess of a show. While the cinematography and production is done very well that its nice to watch the story really was the downfall. This is filled with every typical cliche you can think of; cold CEO with a past trauma, immature female lead that is bubbly, contract relationship, forced cohabitation, toxic second female lead, greedy business partner making problems. Usually I can over look a lot of plot holes in romances like this as the main purpose is just to see the relationship progression but the way this one was written made it very difficult to even finish the drama in the last ten episodes.

The actors did a good job with their characters and its acted fairly well with how it is written though the emotional scenes don't carry the weight to make you feel them as the viewer. The story however did not stay consistent throughout the show. It is told very much like an outline of a story that hits all the main plot points without any thought behind the how or why of it all. Business problems that don't seem to make sense, money problems that aren't explained, and the characters almost seem to devolve as time passes. In an early episode there were many comments about how Qingqing was so young and even Mr. Gu made a comment about them having a generational age gap though they never actually tell you his age. But in all the flashback scenes of their childhood, which felt like they were added as an after thought purely to try and give the couple a past connection, the kids looked very close in age. The first half of the drama is fairly fluffy and fun with their bickering and Qing's character was made to be immature and at first it really was not a huge deal and easy to overlook. But when the couple finally get together later in the series it became painfully childish to watch most of their scenes together. The couple set rules that felt like you were watching two high schoolers in love for the first time not two adults and the fights and misunderstandings between them were immature.

I wouldn't recommend you spend your time on this drama. There are far better fluffy romances that deliver much better chemistry and a more coherent story than this. I would have rated this higher before I got to episode 20 but after that I found it difficult to even finish because of the behaviors of the leads.

Surprising and Worth It!

This was surprisingly fun and cute and just short enough for me to enjoy without getting tired of the story. I liked lead couple a lot because they felt very well matched and I liked that they actually talked about ML's childhood trauma and had him see a therapist.

Too often, childhood trauma is presented as just another character quirk or hurdle that falling in love can overcome and I appreciated that they did more than just have it as a backdrop for why Mr Gu is Mr Gu without addressing how he plans to move forward in his new life.

It's not a groundbreaking drama by any means and there are tropes aplenty, but it doesn't take itself too seriously. You'll laugh often and smile even more watching this because it's just that silly and that inviting.

My biggest problem with it came from some of the directing and editing choices and there was an episode where an extra looked right at the camera that had me laughing for a full minute (see if you can spot it lol). But I wasn't annoyed enough to stop watching and I binged the whole show in about 3 days.

This is sweet romance drama. but just like jyue wrote: 'This romcom started with every cliché there could possibly be for a cdrama: cold male (traumatized) CEO, dumb, childish, poor girl, contract marriage, accidental kisses ….' Yeah this drama check every list for cliché in the beginning. But every drama have their steering plot in the end.

If you don't like the plot where the couple separated for stupid reason or stupid misunderstanding, I think you need to stay away from this drama. There is one stupid misunderstanding in their reason to separated & of course stupid reason for get getting back together, what else except still love each other.

But of course every drama have their ups & down. Here my list:

What i like:
+ I really like Gu Nan Zhou (NZ) mother. She is one cunning woman, in a good way. She always succeeded make NZ & Zhou Jian Qing (JQ) together.
+ Zhou Zi Xuan & Su You Xia. As each individual or as a couple.
+ like the chemistry between NZ & JQ
+ They did not make NZ trauma disappear in the blink of an eye when JQ want to break up with him. Many drama using this kind of plot, making trauma suddenly disappear when there is something seems more important between the main cast then the trauma itself. Yeah in reality trauma not that easy to disappear.

Stupid plot:
- When NZ need new animator for his company, the first person he think about not JQ, who obviously work as cartoonist, but Zhang Yin his love rival. If only NZ ask JQ to enter his company, maybe the misunderstanding or problem can be solved earlier.
- They always makes woman as a love rival seem like so stupid or stubborn, which doesn't want to let go the love, & make man as love rival who have bigger heart, they always at the end can let go the love for the sake of let her be happy.

Don't know to be put good or bad plot:
Why don't the writer make the plot about the Xing Ling Lake or paradise street 19 more about the story about NZ & JQ when their still little kids. Good because the plot is not made more complicated about this. Bad because I think the story will gonna be more interesting if like that

Yeah this is just typical romance drama. It's a good drama, enjoyable, but if you not watch it not gonna feel miss something special. But for Yan Zhi Chao, who played JQ, first drama, she did well. Re-watch...? Nah... Not that good to make me re-watch.

A waste of time to watch, terrible acting, story line episode to next episode really have nothing interesting to hook on, too many un-necessary side stories for extra cast just to stretch the episodes. It supposed to be coming out of age story but it was stuck in university life form and corporate life??!.. But the heroine bad acting says she’s still an immature high school girl attitude debuting in corporate world & not yet graduate in uni… (How real is that😨) … Don’t get it wrong this is not a teen movie genre coz’ she was portrayed as soon to graduate university and engaged to a 28 year old or something CEO.. Saying so its more of coming to (adulthood) age movie. But.. There are so many illogical things and stuff that was so abnormal or far from reality in the story that you’d think the writer has OCD or this film was made for dumb head watchers, and probably think its cute this way to make the story hazy that you can’t follow anymore the bland story line to finish

I love this drama. Light yet entertaining. Although there was a conflict that was quite dragging at the ending episodes, it didn't really have an impact.

FL and ML are both new actors, but surprisingly they are pretty good! Moreover, FL, this is her first drama. Their careers in drama world are quite promising. Their acting is quite good and also the chemistry between them is good and complementary.

This drama story is not new and predictable, CEO ML and marriage contract but I'm not gonna lie, this is entertaining and funny. I was willing to register as a premium member at watching platform to be able to immediately watch the latest episodes.

I'm looking forward to ML's new dramas. He's good and handsome lol, and he can play his character so well.

Cute and Fluffy!

I am bingeing contract marriages or relationship dramas back to back and this one was the most lighthearted one. I can't believe this is the first drama of FL. For a first timer, she really did justice to her role! You know what I really loved about this drama? FL has a voice and reasoning power, which is something we lack in many dramas. Also, the character development of ML was good IG. Was he a jerk in the beginning? Yes, he was. But he was trying his best in the last episodes!An honorable mention to the mother-in-law! She is a good wingman for her son. Even the evil lady's acting was good. It can be draggy (2nd half mostly). IDK 2nd leads felt awkward. And yes, too much miscommunication with leads was soo horrible lol

P.S And please don't get influenced by the reviews. If you like to watch it, go watch it .

Overall it was an average drama!

Acting:
Both female and male leads did an excellent job on their acting and their chemistry on screen was top-notch. Also, the other side characters showcased their acting skills. The male lead's mom made the story a piece of interest (whenever she appeared).
Storyline:
the storyline was so-so... the reason I say this, because after certain episodes it gets boring and it doesn't show much interest to keep watching. we have to be so patient to finish the drama fully. I was planning to drop it in middle but just wanted to finish it.
Personal opinion:
But to be honest, if you have a better drama option on your drama list then I wouldn't recommend this. But obviously, I'm not stopping you to watch this, and the second half of the story was the only part where it was a bit boring. This is the debut drama for the female lead in which she did a great job. And the male lead also did a good job with his acting skills!
Overall:
I gave this an 8 because i liked the female and male lead and their talent in acting. Also, the mother was very funny in certain episodes which was hilarious!!!
