I marathoned it for 4 days. I was so happy to heard that they are couple in a real life. They really suit each other.
The story is about Kim Boong Do who travels 300 years into the future in modern Seoul where he meets Choi Hee Jin not so popular actress and they fall in love. I loved every second of it and I liked how their romance and feelings devolps as the story goes on.
At the beggining Yoo In Na's acting was so-so, but then at the middle of a drama her acting becomes better. I feeled her sadness and crying through me. Ji Hyun Woo did an amazing job as always.
Music is very well combined witht the old and modern time.
I'll always rewatch this drama. It was so sweet and heartwarming.
Overall I gave it a 10 :D So, when you have nothing to watch or you're in a mood to watch something sweet and heartwarming this is a drama!^^

But here the chemistry of the two lead stars were great, I saw the male lead in "Birth of the Rich" and " A thousand Kisses" but this is where he is paired just right.
The story has the complete mix, funny scenes, romantic scenes, dramatic scenes( used a lot of tissues)& action. I have watched it again now that it is complete.
I seldom recommend a kdrama and do a review, but this is worth your time. One of my favorites, it is now the first among my list.

Normally nowadays when you watch a drama, you always say that "ahh it is so cliche that you do not want to watch anymore" (but of course we watch it till the end in despite of its classic, predictable story :D) YET this drama -even though you know its ending from the first episode- is killing you in each new episode. Even if you are a curious and impatient watcher like me who read episode guides beforehand in order to be sure about how the drama ends, don't worry you will still watch this drama and cry with it, laugh with it, hope with it... This drama is absolutely one of the best and I do not normally say that about Asian Dramas since they are always so predictable but still make you wanna watch them over and over again :D
This is my first review so I have no idea if I'm writing things which I'm supposed to write but take my word and watch this drama...

That being said, this drama is sublimely successful when it comes to one thing only: romance.
This is a very, very romantic series. And the two lead characters have such believable chemistry and do such a good job of selling the romance that I think audiences are willing to completely ignore all of the other flaws within the drama. I think that in itself is impressive. Perhaps even a craft to be praised?
I like to think of myself as an intelligent girl. Yes, I like to swoon and sigh when watching a drama and I can absolutely appreciate a handsome face and a good kissing scene. And while this drama tries very, very hard to suck me in and give way to those emotions, I can’t. I won’t. And I will admit, within the first few episodes of this drama, I was singing its praises from the rooftops, recommending it to everyone who’d listen. If they were selling T-shirts, I probably would have bought one.
But just like a heavy dose of puppy love that slowly fades with time, I had to admit that all was not coming up roses.
First realized flaw in my puppy love: the historical scenes of this drama are confusing and unclear. They improve slightly as the drama progresses, but not enough. As a viewer, I shouldn’t want to skip through parts of a new drama because the plot line is confusing or simply boring. If the writing was clever, I would look forward to EVERY scene of the drama—appreciating the history and political intrigue of the Joseon era AND looking forward to the romantic complications of the modern world. It essentially means I’m bored with half of the drama. Not good.
Second flaw: the rules created within the fantasy are inconsistent. If, initially, you tell your audience that a particular object is the sole purpose for time travel, stick to it. And if you decide to alter that rule, then please create a plausible plot twist where—-within the pre-established rules of the fantasy-—the time travel is possible again.
For example, and stick with me, let's say a toaster is a key plot device in the drama. If the toaster doesn't work within the parameters of the rules given, but then DOES work suddenly to make it convenient for the plot... That’s lazy and unacceptable. Why did you bother telling me the toaster didn't work? It’s as if the writers gave up. I imagine that a conversation similar to the following took place during production:
“No! We can’t use the toaster! We have to use something else! We already wrote that it doesn’t work! How can we clean this up?? Any ideas??”
*a week later*
“Still no ideas? OK, let’s just go with the toaster. We’ve got a deadline.”
Anyway, this review is getting long but I felt the need to express my opinion amongst all the “Outstanding” ratings. I will admit, this drama is indeed “outstanding” at playing on my libido as a female viewer due to all of the romance and epic face-sucking. But when it comes to my intelligence and common sense, this drama is “good” if I’m being nice. “Fair” if my puppy love has totally dissipated and I completely ignore my libido.

I'm quite embarrassed now to remember why and how I started watching this drama, thinking of it lightly, just another rom/com, even putting it on hold after watching 2 episodes... now it sounds so crazy to me *shame on me*...
More than writing about the originality of the story and its differences from other dramas, I'd prefer to write about the characters that made me love the story, even making me claim, that I'd love the ending despite whatever stupid solution they offer, only if the two main leads end up together (no, that did not include meeting with the reincarnated version of one of the characters!)
First of all (hands away, he's MINE, RAWR!) the smartest, the hottest, the bravest Kim BoongDu! I will agree with HeeJin, he's a total player, who stole my heart and did not give it back even after the end, on the contrary, I love him more and more each day. BoongDu kind of flipped my apprehension of a perfect male character! Ji HyunWoo was such a natural in his role, I didn't doubt his act even for a second, everything was so natural! Even the smallest looks he gave HeeJin, the smallest touch, the smallest blink of his eyes for her, nothing went unnoticed because of his acting!
HeeJin, well, not my perfect female character, actually (she underestimated her intellect so often...), but I came to love her so dearly! I've said several times: HeeJin - the only female character who can explain the meaning of everything with a kiss, I luved it! I liked her very much, as she went on with her life even during her hardest times, tried her hardest to be all she wanted to be, and did not break down during separation, was passionate and cute, lovable and supportive every time BoongDu needed her!
A special mention deserves the cinematography of this drama! One of the BEST thing bout this drama, I felt like being inside the screen all the time, I fell in love with director's style, his multiple angle shots of the same scene, showing both of the characters when they were longingly looking at each other, I did not miss a single moment of their love, not a single teardrop, not a single breath...
I also want to mention that this drama contains the BEST kiss I had ever witnessed in a Korean drama! I still go back and watch it sometimes... the tip-toe kiss...*sigh*
The music is very fitting and sweet, especially the traditional instrumental piece which I hope will be released soon, I adore it...
I have rewatched many parts of the drama for many-many times, so I rate its value almost as high as the drama itself.
During these weeks I have been watching this drama, it changed its status in my heart several times: first it was a light rom/com trough which I was going to lightly pass through, rate it 7 and forget, then it became the source of my smile and laughter, as I was leaving it to watch after I was being drained by King2Hearts, it gave me so much consolation... then, as I was still under the impression of K2H, it kind of lost the meaning of a placebo of a smile for me, but then, it again gained my heart, made my heart flutter, made me laugh, cry, scream at the screen, analyze and dream...
Totally recommended ^^

One of the big pluses for me was it was a 'fantasy/romance' so the time travel element kept my interest and kept you engaged in the drama. The clever writing also helped to dispense with certain awkward adjustments in time travel movies by making the lead male very intelligent and highly adaptable.
One of the things I really liked about this drama was the easy relationship and intimacy between the two leads....there is a lot, and I mean 'a lot' of kissing between the male and female leads as well as skinship which, is not usual from what I have seen of KDramas. They looked very natural and believable as a couple so you were involved with their romance as it developed. You cried when they cried, laughed when they did and really shared their moments. This couple have lots of chemistry between them which worked well for them in the drama; at some points you wondered whether the acting had stopped and reality took over in the tender moments..that's how good it was.
The secondary characters were very good supporting actors in carrying out their roles and providing some comic relief. There were times though when I wanted to absolutely strangle Jee Hin's Manager for her high handedness. The pacing of this movie is adequate enough for a romance comedy and in fact I felt it moved quite quickly. The directing was of a very high quality and I shall be looking for other projects by the writers and director for this drama.
This drama is worth watching if only to see the chemistry and the romance between the two leads. No wonder they fell in love, who wouldn't with the amount of trust and closeness that has to be invested in the roles to pull them off the way they did. But it is more than the chemistry between the two and I highly recommend it. I intend to rewatch in the future.

What a great story, the past meets with the present,
What i like the most in this Drama is the unpredictable part of the story, it is contrast to many dramas which can be predicted easly. and also i like the combination of fantacyside and realityside inside the story, the combination of pasttime and the present time, for me they matched parfectly to the extent that i wish that these things can hapen in a real world.
The main characters were great, they deriverd the story parfectly, i saw the chemistry between them the romance btn them was SUPER!.
I had fun watching this drama, it made me laugh alot,For me,Its the most fantacy romantic drama ever, i enjoyed watching it and it was worth watching it.

This drama had a very intricate story and I gave it a 9/10 because that missing 1 point is from the confusions it occasionally gave me. There are a few things that I am still not sure of about the story, even after I watched it. Asides from that, it was really great and refreshing, not to mention romantic. I admit that i am a hopeless romantic and this drama was just overflowing of OTP sweet moments that made my tummy feel all fuzzy and warm :)
(those kiss scenes are just UGH killer)
The cast and acting were all really wonderful because te feelings involved were so real. Providing the fact that Ji Hyun Woo and Yoo In Na are a couple in real life makes all the emotions and acting seem even more real. JHW and YIN really executed those emotional and passionate scenes really really well, even in the crying scenes. The only thing is that I felt there were too many flat/static characters with no development probably because the drama focuses so much on the two leading stars.
Overall I really liked this drama because, well, it was overwhelmingly sweet and romantic which can be a good or bad thing. You decide :)
I also liked that each episode was only around 45 minutes because it never really dragged and it also kept me at the edge of my seat. I really felt all the emotions going through in this drama as well, making it a factor as to why I liked this drama. The fact that are are no cliché makjang aspects and that it's not a ''Cinderella' story made me even more fond of Queen In Hyun's Man. It is surprisingly an unpredictable drama as well, making it different from the other rom coms out there.
I recommend this to all those hopeless romantics out there, and those wanting to just watch a sweet and light drama. Even if I consider this drama to be light, it definitely had depth to it. For those finding dramas that don't have awkward, motionless girl love scenes, this is definitely for you.
PS if you have watched Rooftop Prince and are looking to watch this drama, try not to compare it back and forth because both are really different and you would enjoy it to the fullest if you don't compare both while watching this drama :)

Unlike the majority of reviewers, I cannot call this drama the best of the year. In my opinion it was good, but not great.
I didn't really like the direction. I found the split screens to be distracting. It did work well during some of the final scenes, but it mostly felt heavy handed. To me, it was a gimmick that was overused.
As far as the story is concerned, I think it was well written. There will always be holes that you can nitpick about in time travel stories (like how did he always manage to steal clothes that fit him perfectly???), but this drama does a good job of making a farfetched premise believable. Queen In Hyun's Man also spends a pretty even amount of time in both the past and the present, and balances romcom with historical drama fairly well. I was initially bored by the Joseon scenes, but they eventually drew me in as it focussed less on politics and more on time travel. Most of the Joseon characters were not very memorable, including the Queen herself, but the talisman story had some excitement, and suspense to it. The modern day romance is what hooked me in, and kept me watching, yet the rest of the modern day plot was too silly for my taste. Any scene that was non related to the main couple was easily skip-able for me.
I wonder if I would have liked the Queen In Hyun's Man more, if I liked some of the supporting cast more.
If I could separate the rating for the main characters from the supporting cast, the acting for the supporting cast would have gotten a much lower score from me. I found Kim Jin-Woo & Ga Deuk-Hi's roles to be equally annoying as the ex-boyfriend costar & the bff manager. Ga Deuk-Hi had some cute banter with Ji Hyun-Woo, but her constant whining made her character hard for me to bare. I did not find Kim Jin-Woo charming enough to make being so childish entertaining. Jin Ye-Sol played the only supporting character that I had any real interest in, and I think I would have been more effected by her role if she had more screen time.
Now, as much as I can rave about Yoo In Na & Ji Hyun Woo's romantic chemistry, I still had a few problems with their performances. I loved how impulsive Choi Hee Jin was, and that she wasn't romantically passive like most rom-com female leads. I even found her sometimes ditzy behavior sweet, and her antics charming, but for some reason her tears had no effect on me. Sometimes it felt more like sulking than really emotional based tears, but even when she seemed to be crying her heart out I was dry eyed. Meanwhile, Ji Hyun Woo played Kim Boong Do completely deadpan. He has a sexy smirk, and I liked that he was self assured, but something felt like it was missing from his performance. I get that his character was an intellectual, and not necessarily emotional, but his reactions were just too casual in my opinion. In contrast, the rare moments when he did breakdown, should have had a strong emotional effect on me, but they didn't. The story has some seriously heartbreaking moments so It's amazing to me that I didn't cry once.
What the leads do extremely well is romance. There were so many hot, cute, flirty, and sweet scenes between them. Honestly, what got me into this drama, was wanting to watch them flirt. The plot became more and more intriguing as it went on, but I was always secretly waiting for the next flirty scene. The ending also avoided being too corny, and I was satisfied with it (improbable or not), but my favorite part of the end had very little dialogue. ; )
I have no problem with a voice of dissent when it comes to reviews. I know my opinion of Queen In Hyun's Man is not a popular one on MDL, and that is why I feel compelled to say it. Having super high expectations can sometimes ruin a drama for me. Overall I've seen much worse, and much better. I was never super excited to watch the next episode, but I wasn't disappointed by any episodes either. I've already rewatched some of the moments that I liked, but probably wouldn't rewatch the whole thing again. At the very least, this drama deserves praise for feeling a little different than your average kdrama romcom.
