Indian review
Lee min ho’s first drama after his military must’ve kept your expectations high but watch the drama with no expectations for a good ride. The drama has almost no background music, if you care about bgm in what you watch then it’s going to be difficult for you to watch. Watch it for THE CAST, THE STORY and THE MUSIC. Watch the drama and love lee min ho and Kim go eun for their chemistry and themselves! Enjoy the drama in a binge watch session on Netflix or other sites like kissasian. Hope you’ll like the series and if you’re new to korean dramas then make sure you watch a wide variety without sticking to the same leads!
Quase me enganou
Achei bem interessante a personagem dela.

A underrated gem! Best kdrama of 2020!
UNDERRATED AND A GEM!! Okay I am gonna be honest, this was my favorite kdrama that came out in the crazy year of 2020. The story was original, beautiful and ahhhhh swoon worthy. I am a sucker for destiny and fate-like stories, and this one is one of my very top favorite kdramas. Kim Go Eun and Lee Min Ho are both two of my favorite actors! The characters Jeong Tae Eul and Lee Gon had amazing chemistry and growth as a couple. The two different worlds of Korea was so interesting and captivating, of course the queen kdrama writer Kim Eun Sook wrote this one so I knew it was going to be fantastic. Woo Do Hwan did a incredible job with his two characters, he is a wonderful actor and hilarious, his duality was amazing. I loved how this drama showcased a love story that had no confusing breakups or unnecessary drama. It always was right up to the main point of the story and the fight for Tae Eul and Lee Gon to be together. I laughed and cried and fell in love every episode in this drama! Visuals were stunning, OST was perfect, acting amazing, plot incredible! And of course I love happy endings SO please do yourself a favor and watch this amazing drama!Esta resenha foi útil para você?
A Fantastic Fantasy Drama
I won't even go into the science and mathematics theories kinda thrown into the story to explain the dimensional travel, but I really, really liked this one. There were a lot of naysayers about this one, and I can understand to some extent as to what issues they have with this, but honestly, don't think about it too much. This isn't Inception or some other incredibly well thought out science fiction, so don't try to analyze it too much. The story and cast made me think about Goblin. At times it felt slow, and the ending felt less than fulfilling and complete, but the overarching narrative was great, the acting was superb, the fight scenes rather lacking because of the slow-motion cinematography, and the emotions were well developed, complex, and endearing.
Taking Goblin and The King: Eternal Monarch into account, I would like to see Kim Go Eun in more fantasy romances. I think she is kinda a staple now. Now that Lee Min Ho is out of the military, I would like to see him in more similar roles. He has gotten a lot more mature of a look now than in previous years, which would make sense, so I want to see more of acting and roles like this.
Re-watch value is quite high, as I expect I will return to this again within a few months.

If you have seen so many negative reviews and contemplating whether to watch it or not just go ahead and watch it. It is one of the best drama ever made. It has parallel time line story just pay attention and watch it you wont regret it for sure. Kim eun sook never fails to amaze me! She made yet another masterpiece just like the glory and goblin, she for sure has something in her. I really wish to know how she comes up with all these stories!Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Overall, I actually did think that the premise was interesting. But the editing of the time jumps and the overlap in plots between episodes made the story unnecessarily confusing. The drama is beautifully shot and the CGI is well done. I'm not the biggest fan of Kim Eun Sook's writing, because I feel like she re-uses a lot of tropes, which makes dramas a bit lackluster in my opinion. The only reason I really committed to watching this drama all the way through was because of Lee Min Ho, which is an accomplishment for me because I couldn't finish Goblin (also written by Kim Eun Sook) for the same reasons.
In regards to acting/casting, Lee Min Ho is fantastic as usual. He really excels at portraying the aristocratic wealthy prince type. I just wish that the story was more comedic overall, but especially in regards to his character, because we all know he can pull it off based on his past roles. I also really felt that there was no chemistry between the main leads. I've never been the biggest fan of Kim Go Eun, because it always seems like she doesn't truly vibe/connect with the male leads in her dramas which make her characters seem a bit dull in my opinion. I felt the same way about her roles in Goblin and Cheese in the Trap, because I know that the male leads in all of these dramas have pulled off outstanding performances with other female leads. Overall, Woo Do Hwan pulled off my favorite performance of the season with his outstanding portrayals of two very different characters. I want to see him as a ML in the future FOR SURE.
Otherwise, OSTs were nothing particularly noticeable. I also will not be rewatching because I don't think it's really worth it. If you really enjoy these actors, maybe check out some of their other works first and save this for later.
TLDR; It didn't blow me out of the water like it should have, give Woo Do Hwan a main role!

All time favourite show
The king eternal monarch is a phenomenal show in every aspect. The writer perfectly blended more than two genre in one drama and refreshing dialogues. Mindblowing screenplay, remarkable performances, amazing ost and breathtaking beautiful cinematography . The chemistry between the lead pair is so real and believable. Best k drama pairing ever. They've have the best hugs in kdrama world. The emotions portrayed by them were both convincing and real. One of the best healthiest relationship couple i ve ever seen from a show. All time favt show ❤Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Poi tutto cambia all'improvviso, di botto.

Lee Min-Ho at his finest, doing what he does best
If you are a Lee Min-Ho fan and you love action, mystery and quality sword fights, this is the drama for you. I can watch this a million times and never get tired. The FL was super annoying until she finally fell in love and softened up.Lee Min-Ho brought me there, I could watch him all day. But I can confirm that he and his masculinity did not disappoint. The other cast also did an impeccable job, especially the King’s sidekick, played by Woo Do-Hwan, who I would argue did the best, most complicated job at playing two COMPLETE opposite versions of himself.

My first complicated kdrama ever
I don't know where to start but this is not a drama one will understand with a one time watch.Story:
This drama involves two parallel worlds, royalty, science fiction, doppelgangers and unexplainable mythical stuff (The flute /deity boy)
The first episodes are slow but tolerable , telling myself that I'm diving into a drama so I need character development and such. Things got out of hand when each character got a look alike (parallel worlds right? using the rule of Yin and Yang) and I had a hard time realising who got switched and to what world. The show doesn't tell what world the characters are in untill it shows either the palace or the Taekwondo center. I was coping up with space traveling between the same timeline but I didn't expect the writer to introduce time travel into the mix. This hurt my head given I was binge watching. So I had to pay extra attention when time travel was introduced, I didn't even have time to notice product advertisements as I was immersed in the story so that I don't get lost. Lee Gon going back in time several times at that, I was like "what the heck am I watching? " . It's not like time and space travelling were new to me but each time Lee Gon time travelled, they were implications, to which some I didn't understand. His arch enemy Lee Lim was a villain but I just didn't understand the motives behind his actions. Any way, if someone has time to rewatch or read recaps after each episode to better understand the story, I would advise one to do so.
Acting:
The acting was good. The actors brought the characters to life especially the guy who acted Jo Young and Eunseop. He's a versatile actor. I could visibly tell the difference between the two guys who had the same face.
Music :
The music was okay. I personally liked Orbit by Hwasa which played at the end of the first two or three episodes.
Rewatch value:
I would recommend it for better comprehension, ofcourse if one has the time, after all it's not a story where everything is laid out for the viewers to figure out.
Romance :
I have to point this out. I didn't like the romance between the leads. To me it was like forced and fast. It doesn't have a foundation as to why Lee Gon would love Tae Eul and him being a monarch and her being a Lieutenant who is not ready to sacrifice her life, career, friends, and family in a parallel world , I just didn't like their love story given that we had a mysterious story we had to rack our brains for. The show would have been better if they were more comrades fighting against a villain who is wrecking havoc between the two worlds than lovers who in the end didn't become a royal couple.
Overall:
If you are someone who wants to put your brain to work. This is a drama for you but if you want to be purely entertained, I wouldn't recommend The King eternal Monarch.
