Modern day monarchy! Great chemistry between the cast members. The plot was so interesting and Lee Seung-Gi is in it!
Modern Royalty concept + Romance in both.
TheKing:EM Also has fantasy element of pararell worlds and timetravel
K2H has no fantasy element

they both deal with the royal family trying to strive and people trying to bring them down, relationships, and all that stuff along with a lil bit of comedy
This drama just started but we can see that (even from the synopsis) this is a romance between a south korean and a north korean. King2Hearts is also telling us the story about a north korean soldier (which is the woman) and a south korean prince.
They're both about royalty. The male protagonist is also arrogant, wealthy, and stubborn. The female protagonist is surprised to discover that she's actually royalty and is put under tremendous pressure, very much like Hang Ah (to become Queen) and they're both unused to luxury.
Both dramas takes story in fictional Korea where royal family was restored (or never dethroned). Both dramas focus on love story and responibilities and dificulties that come with the corwn.
Both have the same genre: romance and military - about love that grows under military situation.
Though 'King2Hearts' focuses more on politics & military, you can still feel the the strength of the love each character has. Meanwhile 'Descendants of the Sun' is more about the romance itself and also has the medical genre in it.
'King2Hearts' is about a South-Korean prince falling for a North-Korean soldier. Together they fight to keep their relationship while also trying to keep the peace between north and south.
In 'Descendants of the Sun' a female doctor struggles to have a relationship with a soldier from the special force.
While in 'Descendants of the Sun' we stillget comedy from time to time, it lessens in 'King2Hearts' as the situation becomes more serious.

Highly recommended for Jo Jung Suk's fans. If you can't get enough of Eun Shi Gyung in K2H, you can try this What's Up drama. You can see a very different side of him. While he acts as a serious & follow the book type in K2H, you can see his cuteness and funny side in WU. And also for those who are despair with what happen with Eun Shi Gyung in K2H, you should watch WU as he has a better ending there. You can also listen to his singing which imho is quite amazing.
The beginning of the first episode really reminded me of King2hearts ... Both have a powerful and strong willed lead woman and they both have to deal with trouble maker, snobby man with high status in this drama he is the son of the president and end up falling in love
I recommend this both drama because , Male lead and Female lead
try to solve problem
In one drama explosion and another student murder/suicide

Both of this Korean drama has North and South Korean relationship.
The main leads are from high rank political family
Both main couple are in love but facing many challenges and obstacles.
King2hearts is a bit older drama, no spy, but fun to watch nevertheless

They both have the Someone from the North fell in love with someone from the south, and they also have the all military thing going on.
