I love how weird this story is!

You think it’s going to be a normal cliche frolic through an Asian drama—PLOT TWIST!! I love it. I’ve watched it four times and am currently rewatching it. DONT BOTHER WITH NETFLIX’S REBOOT! It’s way too normal and not as fun. I think a lot of people don’t like the original because it’s so bizarre, but I freaking love it. Lol. I only created an account here to defend this wonderful drama. The theme is how respect is more important in a relationship than love and because they respect each other they are able to get through a lot of trials

Hmm it wants it to be longer. Ok. Uhh it’s super funny but also really dramatic. Idk how she is the damsel so many times but it works. But seriously the plot twist is initially hard to get over, but because the characters are mature and respect each other, it works.

A boy love a girl to get her ,he made a false situation. Story is good but the way he got her that was not right .If you love someone you should tell him or her , instead of you force them to get marry with you. what if she loves someone and you force her to marry , for a while she get totally destroy and fake news about cancer that is not right ,what if this news put her into pressure and she get depression. Though this drama shown immense love but their story starts with a false and every relationship is based on trust . So we should not encourage such story where he play with her emotions to get her ,this is wrong ...
But the love story among them is likeable
I like his assistant love story too .

Strong Chemistry between Male and Female Leads

Viewers either love this drama or hate it. Those who love it is mainly because of the chemistry between the two main leads. Those who hate it because of the seemingly un-realistic plot in contract marriage and the beginning of the story. Most viewers drop the drama within the first few episodes, before it gets into the good stuff - loving relationship between the leads.

For me, the beginning was also a bit hard to watch. However, after 10 episodes in, I began to enjoy the story and the plot. The chemistry between the male and female leads is enormous; they don't seem to have enough of each other. Ling Yi Zhou desires his wife constantly; he is passionate for her; there are umpteen kiss scenes - serious kisses, not just taps on the lips; bed scene is a constant play, sensual and sexual; it's really very sweet and beautiful, and sexy.

most horrifying acting

I wanted to like this drama. I really do. I am a sucker for old school plots but this is frankly the worst drama i hv ever watched! Isn't this an idol drama? nevermind that the female lead is not pretty at all, but her acting skills were crap. I didn't want to give up and continued until epi 11 but finally had to abort after i realize she ain't going to get better. i was rolling my eyes as i watch . it was like watching a comedy with her non-existent acting skills! why is there even a season 2? i cannot believe my eyes. DO NOT BELIEVE reviews that rave this drama!! even cartoons are better than this!! what a joke! absolute waste of time.

I'm glad I didn't read all these negative reviews before I gave this drama a chance. I'm not a fan of contract marriages and the whole plot sounded so absurd I just had to watch it! Both my parents have had cancer, I quickly noticed something was “off” in the story and maybe that’s why I wasn’t disappointed. The drama overall has a bunch of romantic moments, a long with some cringey ones and some action scenes. I would say the story was very complex and got rushed, if there would've been more episodes I think the plot would've turned out better.

Great plot with a steamy romance

This is one of the rare dramas that I actually rewatched several times. And I’ve watched hundreds of dramas so that’s saying a lot for me. If you like dramas where the male chases the female first, there’s a contract marriage, there’s lots of real kisses, lots of skinship, the leads spend a lot of time together as a couple, and romance is the central focus then you’ll love this one.

As for the storyline, it was pretty interesting. There are car chases, kidnappings, hidden identities, and lots of twists and turns that keep things interesting. And there are a couple of cute side couples too. The female childhood friend that was obsessed with the male lead was very annoying and cliche but at least the male lead never waivers over her or falls for her games. I was pleasantly surprised when they didn’t keep her as the main villain of the drama but switched to a much better more convincing one halfway through. It definitely made things more interesting. The second male lead is the cutest little puppy that stole my heart and almost gave me second lead syndrome. I like that they gave him a happy ending and didn’t leave him all alone and pathetic. I loved his loyalty to his best friend and their great bromance. There’s lots of character growth here too, especially for the male lead.

There aren’t too many things I didn’t like about this drama. But it did have a few cliche drama tropes like amnesia, the stereotypical obsessed female friend that won’t take no for an answer, and a wealthy CEO paired with a poor girl that’s down on her luck. But you see these things in just about all of the dramas nowadays so they really can’t be avoided. And this drama handles them very well and even puts a fresh new twist on them.

The one thing that bothers many people is that in the beginning the male lead tells a big whopper of a lie to the female lead. And he continues with that lie for quite some time until he’s found out. I’m not usually okay with that type of behavior but in this instance it’s understandable given his upbringing. His mother abandoned him and left him to deal with his overbearing, cold, domineering father when he was only 8. And that man made sure that work was the central focus of his life. So when the main leads meet he has no life outside of his work (as a CEO) because of how he was raised. No hobbies, no social life, no friends, nothing. All he knows is work which usually entails hostile takeovers, buyouts, acquisitions etc. He treats his personal life just like work because that’s all he knows. So it made sense that his character would approach his love life in a cold calculating manner just like a businessman would. Seeing his character grow and change was a joy to watch.

Overall this drama is a romantic comedy with a little melodrama and angst thrown in on the side. But the angst and sad parts aren’t drawn out for too long. I like that things get resolved fairly quickly. It’s mostly just a really steamy, sweet, cute drama that focuses heavily on romance. So if you like really deep, heavy, sad, or tragic dramas this will not be the drama for you. But if you like really romantic dramas that are funny and cute with a pretty good plot then you will love this drama. As for me I would highly recommend it.

Totally worth to watch, I love the story. It's simple and predictable yet satisfied me, the story didnt drag usually it only takes 2 episodes to solve the problems. Every episodes gives such heartwarming scene and the bonus part never fail to make laugh of sweetness. I also like how Xia Lin after found out about the stalking and scheme thing she didnt forgive him easily since it's totally wrong thing to do and make Yi Zhou realize it and learn from his mistakes. It's wrong to justified it just because he's handsome, rich, nice, even a CEO.

Since season 2 is confirmed and more importanly they will start filming with the original cast from the first season!!

i really cannot believe this plot was approved, and i feel bad for the cast that is associated with this show because wow it really is bad. the plot twist revealed the most shocking form of manipulation i have ever seen in a show. the woman was quite literally a victim of Stockholm Syndrome. furthermore, it was not only the woman being manipulated, but the audience as well. i had to drop the show because it made me feel sick to my stomach. so please, do not watch this show! in the first few episodes it seems all cute or whatever but it is not! DO NOT WATCH IT IS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME!

NO LA VEAN
Al inicio es algo que parece ser una simple historia cliché pero que al final es entretenida y romántica en cierto sentido, pero llega un punto en el que se vuelve algo muy enfermizo y tóxico, el protagonista toma un giro en el que se convierte en un enfermo obsesionado con Xia Lin, le miente de una manera gigante, la encierra en su casa para evitar que lo dejé, entre muchas cosas más; lo peor es que tratan de justificar a Ling Yi Zhou por ser guapo y millonario, y que todo lo hace por amor, pero NO ESTÁ BIEN, te venden una idea super errónea de lo que es el amor, además que es muy cliché por lo que le quita alguna razón buena para verla.
A final de cuentas la dejé de ver, y esta es mi opinión personal

Waste of time. disgusting behaviour that was normalised and made to be romantic.

I found this in my notes from when i watched this drama sometime last year and decided to make it into a review. I enjoyed the beginning of the show I guess. It was the classic cliche rich boss and helpless woman and they fall in love after they have a meet cute and enemies to lovers etc etc. SPOILER ALERT BTW,,,,,,,,,,,,, BUT THEN, EP10 THIS MAN GETS REVEALED THAT HE FAKED HER WHOLE ASS BONE MARROW THING TO GET MARRIED TO HER AND THEN HE TRAPS HER IN THE HOUSE AND THEN SOMEHOW SHE FORGIVES HIM. i REMMEBER the being trapped in the house thing so distinctly because I was so shocked that he was like this is for your own good babe <33 its all because i love you so much like no stfu... very very very toxic relationship, i tried to watch past it but it completely ruined the show and i couldn't see how much affection he tried to show her after this because of how disgusting the situation was and how they actually ended up marrying. Like how he stalked her for two years prior and then made her believe she was going to die and stuff. It was very machiavellian type beat like the ends justify the means but no, it was just a toxic relationship and she shouldn't have forgiven him because he a psychopath.

Also I gave mans a 7.5 for acting because I guess he made me really hate him and the show after the big reveal so go him for acting his part. Also how does this series have a 7.6 rating when all these reviews are giving out ones. make it make sense.

Empecé a ver este drama porque me pareció interesante a pesar de que quizás la trama pueda ser cliché. Una chica que quiere tener su lugar en el mundo descubre que está enferma y quien la puede ayudar es el millonario solitario que solamente confía en su secretario.
Pensé en un montón de situaciones MENOS EN LO QUE EN REALIDAD PASA.

Lo terminé de ver porque en realidad no me gusta dejar dramas a la mitad pero ojala pudiera "desver" este drama jajaja

NO LA VEAN. Hay demasiadas conductas que no son aceptables y el hecho de que lo intentan justificar de una manera y otra, NO SON ACEPTABLES.

Cuando inicié el drama, mi idea era que su condición se pondría peor durante la primera mitad para después recuperarse milagrosamente o que estuviera bien y se pondría peor durante la segunda mitad.
Estaba completamente equivocada.
Ella en realidad nunca estuvo enferma, y no solo eso, el lo sabía porque el lo organizó. Orquestó todo el show de la enfermedad para que ella se pudiera acercar a el y así poder engañarla y hacer que se enamorara de él.
Yo? Asustada.
Lo peor es que ELLA LO PERDONA.

No puedo creer que haya habido gente que hubiera estado de acuerdo en hacer toda una farsa de la enfermedad y tampoco pude creer que la amiga de ella, quien siempre fue clara y directa, de la nada cambió su actitud a "tu decide".
Cuando ella se va de la casa (después de escapar porque el la encerró) y regresa a su antiguo departamento rentado, EL COMPRA EL DEPARTAMENTO.
La toxicidad al millón.

Love and respect versus control and manipulation.

This series explores the polar differences between “respectful love” and “selfish love”.

There is great chemistry between the main leads which is a joy to watch. Ling Yi Zhou’s character is strong, sexy and domineering. He will ultimately face the consequences of his immature scheming, and obsessive manipulation of Xia Lin.

Xia Lin is a mix of strength and vulnerability. I enjoyed how she tried to fight her growing attraction to Yi Zhou. Her kindness shines through in her dealings with everyone.

The series examines whether the initial imbalance of power in their relationship can evolve into a truly respectful love, that helps each other to be the best version of themselves, conquering more obstacles than most will ever have to face.

The villains spiral downwards, acting out of grossly selfish love, further highlighting the theme. There are a couple of cliché tropes but it is still a lot of fun. Wen Li and Chu Yan are a great. The relationship between Chu Yan and Xiao You is sweet. The grandmother is a delight.

This is the only series I have watched three times (both season 1 and 2), so you can take that as a recommendation.
