I stumbled across this lankorn on youtube and couldn't help myself giving it a try,And now after finishing it, i'm really happy i discovered it.
We have two main copules i guess & its not what you'd expect at first but I only could focus on of the two couples - Smile and Badz. Their chemistry and development was what kept me watching, and Liz & Kyro were cute but they were boring for me so i sometimes skipped their scenes.
The Plot itself was interesting and new to me.
Smile is my favorite and she was so cute and adorable, so happy how thing turned out in the end for her. Badz and Kyro were eyecandy of course, i mean just look at them???
All in all, its a cute lankorn that you wont waste your time with. I really really enjoyed it.
You either love both couples or just one of them. Haha

So... what a ride. I had been expecting BFR since the first trailer back at the end of the year and I was soooo excited. I loved the cast and it seemed one of my dream couples (Mond and Fon) would happen, but the final product was honestly disappointing. I still enjoyed it though.Pros:
- Smile and Badz were so cute together and had great chemistry
- Loved the opening
-They all looked hot and/or adorable which is bonus points
- That's it for the specific pros but I have a general feeling of enjoyment
Cons:
- Liz's hair: why is it changing all the time? Was it that difficult to film the scenes in order? Or not letting her dye the hair at all if that wasn't possible? It was very annoying
- I thought Liz and Kyro were meh
- I know you need to give the characters some depth but Liz and Kyro's family stories were so irrelevant for me
- Smile was in trouble 99% of the time from beginning to end. I get that Badz aka her knight in shining armor has to come rescue her but I think she was almost sexually abused at least 3 times
- The entire Boy For Rent concept was very disturbing and was poorly resolved in the last episode (maybe because I couldn't watch the last part with subtitles)
- I know most people (me included) thought Badz was best boy but he had a lot of bad attitudes that made me go uhhhh
Conclusion: watch at your own risk lol.

The story was predictable, but easy to follow, light and fluff. The romance was cute as well. Although, I have to admit that I didn't like the couples that were formed at first. However, the ending was nice and therefore, the drama concluded well, wrapping up everyone's story.
The chemistry between the couples was good as well. The performances were decent as well. Those two helped witht he development of the story a lot. But, the final episode was a bit over the top.
So, seven out of ten.

The perfect love show
The understanding between leads is so well executed. There realisation about there feelings is natural.
The story could have been more big cause few things got to much ahead like there chemistry and everything it would have been good if the drama is 16 episodes.
Overall wonderful drama .
Smile might be childish but they are just portraying a different character there are a lot of childish girls .
This drama contains many different characters
Smile- childish and emotional
Badz- understandable and gets along with everyone
Liz- confused and broken
Kyro - looks cool but has a sad past
But all these characters gets along really well

You all must be thinking, what possessed me to even start watching this shit and honestly I was just bored one Sunday afternoon, saw the title and decided, “fuck it” and twelve episodes later here I am writing a review.
This story is just incredulous to say the least. So many plot holes and inconsistency and I don’t just mean with Liz’s hair that literally goes from brown to black in every damn scene. I mean we know that scenes aren’t film in a continuous sequence but could they at least tell home girl not to die her hair during the middle of filming?!?! It was so distracting! But anyways story is straight up on crack. This is story is about prostitution, yes point blank, plain and simple, this is prostitution. They pay money to rent these boys and then they are basically their properties until the contract is up. So that is why I was not surprised to see that almost every episode had some form of fucked up shit in it? We had Smile almost getting rape at least ten times, and no I am not exaggerating. We had scenes that were quite questionable when it comes to consent. The twist at the end was just straight what the actual fuck and made me wonder if everything was going on over at GMM ONE studios.. Like lmfao y’all tried it.
The characters.. SIGHS. Okay so let’s start with Smile. I don’t like naïve leads, not that there is anything wrong with women who are kind, and sweet, but listen.. Smile was every bit that childish girl that Kyro said, I literally wanted to reach into my laptop screen and smack the dumbass a few times. I don’t think she really developed character wise in all honesty. It was like she went from a nerd to a nerd with a boyfriend. Badz, bless his soul, was your typical handsome male lead. The problems that he created with Liz could have been resolved by COMMUNICATING WITH YOUR GIRLFRIEND. He does have a banging body though (pretty sure it was in Mond’s contract to take the shirt off every episode and I am not complaining.) Liz was a dumb bitch, but not in the dumb cute way that Smile was, but like a proper dumb bitch.. Once again all her issues with Badz would’ve been solved had she just communicated.. Just think for a while, your girl says she saw your man with another girl and you don’t confront him? You’re just like “uhh cool, let me rent a prostitute to cheat with then” like nah girl, first we confront his ass and then we fuck his best friend. Kyro was the caricature of a bad boy who finds a woman that changes him with daddy issues.*yawn*
At this point you’re probably wondering how it was possible that I finished it and if I was hate-watching like I tend to do sometimes, but the truth is that I am in love with Badz and Smile’s chemistry or I guess Mond and Fon. I couldn’t get enough of it. I wanted to see them at all times and watch them be absolutely fucking moronic with each other because they were so freaking cute. I legit skipped all Liz and Kyro scenes cause I could not give any less of a fuck about anything either of the two did. I eagerly waited on my subs just so I could watch these cuties and I don’t regret it all. Matter of fact, if there is someone out there who can just cut all the Liz and Kyro scenes from the drama and make the show solely about Badz and Smile, I would very much appreciate it.
I MEAN LOOK AT THEM !

Good Idea ruined by Production & Directing
LIKES:Chemistry between actors and actresses.
Scenery, like when they went to the “sea”.
Wardrobe: well chosen to show the different stages of maturity for the actresses and tasteful clothing for the actors.
Transportation: Liked that they were consistent with what Badz used in comparison to Kyro.
Nice apartments for Kyro and decent rooms for the students too.
The different restaurants that were shown, without grossing us out due to talking with their mouth full of food (like some other dramas do).
Concept of the show about hiring a boyfriend.
DISLIKES:
MUSIC:
too loud, hard to hear actor & actresses talking, thankfully I read sub titles & could mute the music, which was annoying.
PRODUCTION:
Zoom in too close, cutting off heads and allowing us to see they have zits under the makeup and some times nose hairs.
Smile played by Fon, (acting too over the top cutesy, didn’t come across as innocent, more idiotic) and her extra friend Onnie who was too annoying to watch.
CONTINUITY ISSUES BIG TIME:
One minute Liz has black hair, next it’s red. [Episode 8 all the way to episode 12 (hair colour still switches constantly) Liz is back to having red hair (dinner with fam) (after dinner her hair is back to black.]
Also bruise on Pig tail girl’s face missing the next day., the Gf has black hair again at uni the the next day
LIGHTING ISSUES
Ep. 5 when Kyro is standing on bridge with Liz, near a street light, it’s way too bright, lighting issues to the extreme. It’s like they are standing in front of a spot light.
SOUND:
Lots of background noise like in episode 6, then terrible music played on top of that. Impossible to hear the actors /actresses.
Punching sound effects are late.
Instead of using a boom arm to catch the actors/actresses voices they put the microphones on the clothing of them, so if they hugged voices got muffled and the sound of the moving clothing overpowered the rest of the sound.
WRITING:
Rushed ending
no real consequences for any of the bad guys, and same with the abusive parents (verbally and physically), which really sends the wrong message
Smile was idiotically immature, especially with her voice and nuances, it got old fast.
Making Liz appear a badass singer, but she was almost as immature as Smile who was supposed to be younger than her. Liz always dependant on a guy, maybe due to her daddy issues, but that’s stretching it to figure out why.
Didn’t notice any comedic parts for this to be called a rom-com, because stupid isn’t funny.
OVERALL:
It’s only 12 episodes (thankfully) and I could watch it again, but not sure I want to. I watched it once a long time ago and did watch it again without skipping episodes or fast forwarding, so that I could leave a proper review. I would recommend it for someone starting out in the genre for something that is more teen level romance, than some other school setting dramas. For everyone else, just don’t bother watching unless you like the male actor eye candy.

It wasn’t bad story but a little unbelievable and predicable at times. Also Liz’s hair kept going from brown to black very distracting. The acting was done well. Liz’s best friend is awful. I mean she covers for Liz going off with another guy but then gets all up in Badz’s face for being out with Smile.
I’m not sure what else to say but if she really loved Badz she wouldn’t of been trying to get even with him she would of been trying to find out the truth of what was going on. Also Badz really loved Liz he should of explained what was going on. Sure I get he didn’t want her involved but all he was doing was causing her heart break.

What did I just watch
The only saving grace this show had for me was Liz and Kyro; I know people are not fond of them but I see them in a different light. They helped each other through their dark times and I liked that. Oh also, Badz’s bangin’ body. What I didn’t like about this drama was the cheating and prostitution involved, and how it was almost unrecognized. *trigger warning* this show contains attempted rape and abuse towards women.
*SPOILER ALERT*
The character I hate the most was the damn sister (Bonne) who sold off her loving brother (Badz) to BFR. I don’t wanna spoil it, but that was pretty unforgivable what she did.
Smile’s character annoyed me from begging to end - her nuances are so irritating that I had to skip thru her scenes. I only liked her in the last episode. I don’t see her as bubbly and happy but rather as a third party who would not stop getting on my nerves.
I almost dropped this show but I just wanted to see how Kyro’s love story would end.

Best watched mindlessly, with the analytical aspect of your mind shut off.
I believe that entertainment is best appreciated when it's kept varied - when there's a balance struck between engaging with genuinely artfully crafted media and media that exists mostly for the fun of it. I'm not saying that this show is trash; rather, my perception of it is that it's at its most enjoyable when it is being watched without reading too deeply into things and looking for profound meaning.Smile was done kind of dirty at the beginning. I understand that she's supposed to be innocent and a little childish, but... this is a plot revolving around college-age adults. The pigtails, huge glasses (although cute), and ESPECIALLY the squealing at the beginning of the series at every possibly wrong moment are all, combined, quite overkill. These traits also make Smile appear unsettlingly young considering the topic of the show and I really feel they could have been changed. Thankfully, this is only really a problem for the first handful of episodes and Smile grew on me a lot afterwards. Also, her outfits... I need them.
Liz is an interesting character, I guess, but hard to get behind because she's not really given a proper redemption arc or anything considering the mess she causes. Kyro is kind of in the same boat with her on that note (and who tf kisses someone and gets their hopes up only to then say "yeah I'm not really feeling it"? I know that's his character, but... dude). And I actually really enjoyed Badz from the beginning. He's pretty charming in a natural way and genuinely has good chemistry with Smile (Kyro's and Liz's was alright by comparison, nothing special really), so his relationship progression with her seemed natural. I also have to say that I liked that they made him act a bit awkward and dorky around Smile. Sure, he may be considered handsome, but I do feel like that added touch of clumsiness made him more endearing and realistic as a character.
I find it interesting that when it came to Badz and Smile's relationship, while the focus stayed with them in the present moment - what present circumstances are bringing them together, basically - the focus of Kyro and Liz's relationship seemed to be centered more around past (often rather sad) life events that naturally brought the pair closer together. Neither is necessarily better than the other, I just found this difference in approaches interesting.
The acting was fine, but I feel that Badz's actor - Tanutchai Wijitvongtong - shone best in his role. It's almost like he was being himself even while playing his character and it worked great. Kyro's actor, as well as the actresses cast as Smile and Liz, weren't bad, but I simply felt that Tanutchai's performance was strongest. Supporting actors also did a decent job (though I do wonder if Onnie's actress wasn't given enough proper direction), but some minor characters is where the acting got a little weird (I'm looking at you, guy who stole Liz's purse).
Will also note that the opening theme of the show legitimately sounds great and I actually would never skip it. I also appreciate that they also got people who could actually sing to fill the parts that needed singing.
Some notes on the less good stuff: I feel that the directing was a bit off for some of the actors in certain moments. They all seem to do a good job, but I suppose they were pushed for more excessive expressions of their characters' personalities (like Smile at the beginning of the show or Onnie throughout most of it).
The show also has like 6 different background music soundtracks that they reuse and while it's kind of funny, I can see that it could get very easily more annoying as one progresses through the show and has to hear the same score over and over. I also wish that they'd turned the volume down a bit on those tracks.
On numerous occasions, the show suffered from audio issues. I saw two or three scenes in which a character's mouth would move but I'd hear no dialogue. Additionally, I'm assuming they were on a tight budget or something and couldn't get boom mics or whatever because whenever characters would hug, the dialogue would get really muffled - probably because all the sound was being recorded by small mics on the actors' bodies. I'd also sometimes hear wind hitting the mics, and during that one scene towards the end where Liz cried as she performed, the dubbed-over track they used - though it sounded nice - did not reflect that she was actively sobbing as she sang. A bit goofy but still noteworthy.
And I'm still surprised they let Liz's actress just... dye her hair like that mid-shoot. Seeing her hair change from brown to black during basically every scene nearly gave me a seizure. It's crazy that they didn't even try to hide it.
Also, I'm not sure what the situation is like in Thailand when it comes to topics of sexual harassment/assault, but the writers would put moments that depicted such events in like... every episode. It was odd and they didn't handle the topic well, either. I get the feeling this was just more mediocre script-writing rearing its mediocre-looking head rather than a cultural difference, though, because even Badz did some iffy stuff like once or twice during the drama's runtime - and he's supposed to be the "good guy" lol. Just wanted to point this out.
As a final note: if any girls out there are reading this, if you have a friend like Onnie, maybe mull things over a bit. Because anyone who tries to control who you love and who makes you sign an agreement where only you get repercussions if you break it is unlikely to be a very good friend to you. There's nothing wrong with having friends who are there only for when you want to have fun with them, but I'd be wary of letting them too close into your life. They're not necessarily bad people, but the last thing you want is to have other people using your vulnerabilities against you for their own benefit.
