This drama could have had high potential especially with such a unique story line. Good acting from the main cast to the supporting actors. I didnt expect anything less from Kim Nam-Gil's acting especially since I watched this after the Fiery Priest. I wont deny that I kept watching because of him. Sadly though there were episodes that were almost dragging and some scenes that didnt made any sense. How is it ok for a person in need to be pushed away so many times he almost ended up sleeping on the streets and even fed dog food? How did a famous cunning doctor like him suddenly became weak and lets himself be used by those in power? Why did the main characters didnt even say they loved each other not even once? Do the audience really didnt need to hear it? That made the romance somewhat lukewarm for me. The writers made their parting so heart wrenching yet the much awaited after-Joseon-war reunion so cold? I mean, how could they be so calm and not run into each others arms after being apart for sooo long and missing each other everyday? I liked that it was a happy ending but was disappointed that the scene didnt excude love and happiness. Maybe a kiss and some cheesy lines would have made a more lasting impression. This drama will make you laugh and cry.
I took my time watching this drama but overall it was pretty good! The story was good, the acting was good and the plot twists were good too!I'll start with what I didn't like (which isn't much actually):
-The female lead flip flopped with her feelings way too much. One minute she liked the male lead, the next she hated him, the next she liked him, the next she hated him. Luckily this only goes on for a couple of episodes.
-In the beginning the second male lead comes off as pushy and strange in the sense that because he likes the female lead he somehow has the right to be weirdly possessive of her.
What I did like about the drama:
-The time travelling plot was a great plot device to contrast between the two different worlds they go between.
-The character development in this show is really spectacular. They do it in a way that doesn't feel forced or rushed. The female lead's character development was my favourite because she goes from being harsh to being patient and warm hearted.
-I don't usually cry but this drama made me sob!
-Although there were parts that were hard to watch because of how painful it was, this drama is mainly light hearted and funny. The male lead embodies this and it's what sticks out for me about the drama.

Ok, before anything else: I am a complete SUCKER for time traveling Kdramas! I love this concept SOOOO so much, and what makes this drama even more special to my heart is how special the connection between traditional and modern medicine is.I did not know anything about this before I started, I literally just knew it was a time traveling drama. With regards to the story, I'm not one to say this often but its just.. PERFECT for me. Although it had a simple plotline, it still had had the right mix of comedy, romance and history.. And I especially loved the chemistry between Kim Ah Joong and Kim Nam Gil! They did their characters very well, and I became so in love with Heo Im through his charafter growth throughout the series. I really love the morals questioned in this drama, as it is a very serious talk of life or death of people in the hands of doctors. Discrimination of classes both in the past and present in terms of medical treatment was tackled very well, and I saw the devastating effects of these all-throughout the drama. I love also how this has broken the trope of girl who heals guy, because almost every character around Heo Im contributed to his growth and not solely relying on Yeon Gyeong. On the other hand, Yeon Gyeong's character growth was also very touching to me. She was a very strong character as a doctor at the start, and lacking in the aspect of emotion because of her tragic past. Eventually, the wounds had to open up and seeing how she started connecting more emotionally than just medically to her patients and opening up to her grandfather touched me so much. Another character I'd like to specially mention is Oh Ha Ra for being a key person to both Heo Im and Yeon Gyeong. The characters surrounding the main roles were also quite wholesome, and seeing a proper resolution to all of them was a very nice touch, even til the very end.
In terms of the cast, well, the chemistry between Kim Nam Gil and Kim Ah Joong was just AMAZING. They worked so well with each other. I also had no particular problems with any other casting as well. The OSTs, though few, were very catchy for me and lovely in scenes they were added to.
In conclusion, this certainly is one of the finest Kdramas I have ever seen... It's so wholesome and had just the right amount of dramatic moments mixed with all the comedic and medical aspects, a great cast and OST.

I didn't have high expectations of this drama and honestly, I caved in cause Netflix kept recommending it to me (putting it on the top of queue categories, as well as having it featured in my Netflix screensaver). I didn't know what I wanted to watch, and this one seemed different from what I normally watch. So why not?And this blew me out of the water. Yes, it was a typical medical drama, but I enjoyed how it was about two different doctors, from two different time periods, who viewed life in completely different ways, BUT were extremely similar in how passionate they were with what they did.
I like to say that this was a drama about two doctors who were passionate about their work, but once they meet, they take this journey about getting that passion and turning it into compassion. It isn't enough to be a great doctor and being the best at what you do, but relearning that initial love for what they do as well as finding some compassion and empathy for the people around them. Not saying that the two mains Heo Im and Yeon Kyung were bad people, but they did need to step back and figure out what their motivations were and learning to re-fall in love with themselves as well as their work.
I really did like the characters and how this drama was more about Heo Im and Yeon Kyung supporting one another through hardship and finding out what even though they come off as different people, they have similar hearts, and eventually, in the final 5-6 episodes, we start to see that slow burn romance. And their romance didn't lack - if anything I appreciated it a lot more as they got to become friends first and built this trust where when something bad happened, they supported one another because they knew it was against the other's character. Not like other dramas where they would break up and realize, "oh they did this to protect me." But don't worry, there are still some heavy heartbreaking scenes in this drama still. That honestly took me by surprise and made me realize that we need to protect Heo Im at all costs.
I think Heo Im was my favorite character as well - there were so many sides to him. I thought he was the comedic relief who needed to teach Yeon Kyung the joys in life, and she needed to help him relearn why he got into medicine in the first place and not for greed. BUT NO. There was so much depth and grief and it made me tear up a couple of times when we got to witness his hardship. It made it that much more enjoyable whenever Heo Im would skip around and laugh and be a bubbly person. At first I thought it was annoying and I wanted to story to progress, but once you get to the middle around ep 10, your heart breaks for him. And that is why this took me by surprise. It wasn't just some random drama.
After saying all that though, I felt the ending was a bit generic. Still good and happy (with a good segway into a possible season two with new mains, which I would totally watch), but I felt that it didn't have the epicness I was hoping for. It just kind of happened in the last 10 minutes. It got to a point where I was okay with the drama ending a certain way because it made sense. It also probably didn't help that I kept pausing the middle of emotional and intense scenes on accident because I got distracted by other things.
I do recommend this though. It took me by a surprise. It was just something super random that I was like sure why not and I am happy I watched this.

Than after watching the whole drama, I literally didn't have words to describe the feeling i was having because the show is over now. This drama took me by surprise. It has comedy to make you laugh whole day, It has romance that you would love to watch again. Every episode is important in its own way. You never want to miss anything. The main leads are amazing. The chemistry between them is really good. It has those small happy moments that you don't see in many dramas. I can't spoil anything
I have watched many time travel dramas but this is definitely not less than them. Just go for it, Don't think about anything. You should watch this without hesitation. It won't waste your time.

What a fun ride
I'm so impressed of this show, to be quite honest, I didn't have big expectations seeing the rating. As soon as I started watching it, I was totally immersed, not to mention time travel is a theme that I thoroughly enjoy in each and every drama.The story was absolutely unique and by that I mean the way the time travel was made. I enjoyed a lot the way the doctors were portrayed and the struggles they go through. The number of episodes was ideal. Again, the ending was rushed.
The character developments were so well built and I'm so glad it didn't happen just for the main characters! Kim Nam Gil as always went through a range of emotions, I never saw Kim Ah Joong in a drama before but she did an amazing job! She and Kim Nam Gil had an amazing chemistry on the screen, at times you might think they were dating in real life, that's how believable their chemistry was.
The OST was good.
My rewatch value is 9, it was such a fun show!

The time travel wasn't too confusing and also reminded me of a drama "Queen In-hyun's Man". I like how the couple actually tried to adapt each others era. This is my first time seeing Kim Nam Gil acted and I'm amazed by his great acting skills XD. And for Kim Ah Joong acting, she look very cold though. Not sure for her other dramas that she had acted, is she always like this? (Don't feel offended, just my opinion :/). But overall they still able to show and produce that humor and romance :).
I like how the writer actually thought of mixing the medical service from the modern and the traditional. For people who are curious of how the acupuncture works, its time to watch this drama :).
Overall this drama is excellent, fun and worth to watch. Its hard to find any drama that actually shows traditional treatment, why not give this a try right :)?

A true hidden gem
The only expectation I had from this drama was kim nam gil because I knew he was a very good actor from watching the drama "fiery priest". Comedy is especially his forte, such a talented man, I must say because what I got was 100 times more than my expectations. Kim nam-gil's character was such a dork! He was adorable yet had some serious skills when it came to his job. He is not your average acupuncture doctor!The female lead played by kim ah Joong,even though I have never seen her on screen before, really impressed me! Her character was cool and charismatic and extremelytalentedat her job ,truly one of a kind female lead!She made me a fan of her so fast! She was never a clueless and helpless woman even for a second. She was quick to do whatever it takes,fight and protect herself to get out of her difficulties. Such a fresh female lead. On top of all that she is so beautiful, always shining on screen!
For me personally I dont enjoy both medical and period dramas much. But this show was so amazing! It had aspects of romantic-comedy, fantasy and medical perfectly blended together. I felt a whole lot of emotions during the show the actors really outdid themselves.
Our leads actually portray one of the most purest and adorable relationships I have ever seen. I really enjoyed how thier relationship and thier relationship with the other characters evolved and thier individual stories of healing and character development.
This show portrays the duty of doctors in both joseon era and modern world. It shows how the doctor's duty has changed and how important it is to the people of the country,under monarchy or democracy. This show really set my moral values on stone and increased my respect for doctors.
Unfortunately though, the story lacks depth,the writer made the past of the main leads a little predictable and simple.There were many dumb things about some parts of the story.The writers were the one that made this show a little weak. It would seem like there is a complex story behind, but it really gives you less than what you expect.
Still I would say this is a hidden gem and better than many of the shows that people hype up.
Highly recommended!

So the story is about a famous acupuncture doctor from the past (I forgot which dynasty), he somehow had the ability to travel to the future or go back to the past but he has to be dead first to be able to travel.... In the future, he met a modern girl doctor who happened to have a bad experience with acupuncture treatment (her family actually ran an acupuncture clinic) so his interactions with the girl at the beginning didn't go so well. However, they slowly understand each other and even help each other in crisis and OF COURSE, they slowly started to develop feelings for each other!!! then as usual conflicts happened and you have to watch this to see watch happened!! LOL
Highly recommended!!

BOO
Rant review incoming:With all due disrespect, fuck that ending. I had such high hopes because I was absolutely in love with this drama during the first 10 episodes. It obviously still had its faults and was never going to be a 10 star, but I was hoping to give it maybe an 8.5 rating. No. Hell no. I’d like to erase the last few episodes from my memory because at some point a little after the halfway point of the drama, things slowed down dramatically, random conflicts were created just to get the drama to a 16 episode mark, and the show became unbearable to watch. After all the shenanigans where Heo Im was getting accustomed to his new life came to a neat close and the romance took off, the drama started absolutely sucking. It’s taking everything in me to not rate this drama lower than this (because honestly speaking those first ~10 episodes were amazing and the bad ending shoudln’t take away from the show’s good parts) but that ending was absolute horse shit. The way they just decided to randomly separate FOREVER without any intention to get back together which is just SERIOUSLY! You’re in love with this person and you just decided like “yeah ok I guess we don’t belong together because he’s from the past and even though nothing is technically forcing him to go back, I’ll still make him go back so that he can save a bunch of people at war as if he’s the only doctor in all of Joseon or as if it’s any of his business at all. And then instead of coming back as soon as the war's over I think he should just stay there forever since we're just NOT MEANT TO BE” It just felt like the lamest, least convincing excuse ever for them to be depressed and pining for one another and despite being fully capable of living together peacefully, they still decide to stick to their own timelines because Mrs. Kdrama writer said so and because “He BeLoNgS iN JoSeoN.” Bullshit. If that wasn’t enough, the reason he came back to her wasn’t even intentional to begin with. It was literally an accident and even though he was feeling sad just a few moments ago about his lost love, we all know damn well he wouldn’t have done shit about it. And then suddenly he finds her and acts like all his life’s problems are solved and all his past bullshit reasons for staying away don’t even matter anymore. Bye. Just bye.

RESENHA- LIVE UP TO YOUR NAME
AS PRIMEIRAS IMPRESSÕES⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄

A ACUPUNTURA
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂

A VIAGEM NO TEMPO
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂
⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄•
✦Salto de trem para o futuro em: Tomorrow With You;
✦Viagem de carro pagando um pedágio com uma moedinha especial em: Familiar Wife;
✦ Ida ao passado através de portal mágico que só aparecia raramente em: Faith;
✦Salto para o futuro em meio a uma perseguição policial em: Tunnel;
✦Transmissões entre policiais de épocas diferentes usando um walkie-talkie em: Signal;
