Pei Er confesses to An Ru and is caught by Yuan Qi and He Cheng. Rather than death by sword, she is given a peaceful death by drowning in the lake. Unbeknownst to Yuan Qi, she is a good swimmer, managing to survive. She is saved by Tan Heng but is incommunicable due to a fever. Jing Ping writes a letter to Minister Xun detailing what he has discovered, while General Yue Yin Chuan meets the Emperor for the first time, detailing similar insights as Ping Jing.
