I think that the actors did pretty good job. Well the main actors weren't that good, but all the supporting actors were incredible and so funny. The best was Kang Min Hyuk who played the drummer Yeo Joon Hee. He was so cute and funny. And Woo Ri acted realistically the anorexia girl.
And what else can you expect from music, when the main actors are Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong Hwa. I'm still not that familiar with korean music, but i'm really starting to like it. But the traditional music was somehow odd...
The ending left few question without answers and i think they could have done one more episode and explain some matters.
Anyway i liked this show. It wasn't perfect, but i would recommend this to all of you who like pretty cheesy romance with some plot twist. If you like action and surprises, this isn't your drama.

The story was not so complicated and sweet. That's what I really like - Its simplicity. Though, I feel the plot was rushed. The musics were great.

Story: Park Shin Hye's character here is very similar to her character in "You're Beautiful". Both are lovable, but frustrating at times. The frustrations stem mainly from the fact that (in the beginning), she never does anything she wants and just gets dragged around by everyone. Of course, she matures later on, but in the end she's still the same character who lets other people take her spotlight. While I was watching all this, I began to wonder *why* I was rooting for her. Younghwa's character was your typical jerk with a heart of gold, which I typically find insufferable but here I managed to deal with because both sides of the character were shown equally. Their relationship was really cute, but there was barely any conflict between them. Same goes for the story, since all the conflicts were easily resolved.
Acting: Let me just get this out of the way: Younghwa can't act.
At all.
I'm pretty sure a cardboard box can emote better. It's actually pretty sad, because if he took some (okay, a LOT) of acting lessons, he could be better. His acting was balanced out by the amazing Song Chang Ui, who was absolutely brilliant here. So Yi Hyun had difficulty emoting, but I can see her getting better somewhere down the line. As for Park Shin Hye, she's good in the role but I have no particular love for her or her character.
Music: Since this is a music drama, obviously music is a pretty big thing. The classical music was... interesting? I wasn't really a fan of it. The modern music was pretty good though.
Rewatch Value: "Heartstrings" is cute enough, but there's not enough conflict or plot to make me rewatch all of it.

So. Heartstrings/Festival/You've Fallen For Me. There are so many names for this drama.
When I first saw that Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong Hwa would be acting together again, I was over the moon. I loved them both in You're Beautiful and had honestly been praying to see them together again, preferably with Yong Hwa as the male lead rather than the secondary male. I got my wish!
Aside from the utterly fangirling moments I had, I was very excited about the story. Turns out I had every reason to be. Heartstrings is a very sweet, comedic and romantic drama that does quite literally tug at your heartstrings. Many times throughout the fifteen episodes, I found myself crying over an injustice done, at some times hating a character's wickedness, being annoyed by others, and utterly captivated by the adorableness of Kang Min Hyuk's character. Watching Jung Yong Hwa do a 180 when it came to his character in You're Beautiful and his character in Heartstrings was fascinating for me, and he did beautifully. I hope to see him act more in the future.
The music and acting complement each other very well. They got a stellar cast with acting chops that really made the drama shine. I definitely recommend watching Heartstrings.

The female lead was extremely enjoyable, she played her role to the letter: a ditzy, emotionally immature, obedient teen that tries to make amends with both her family and her own choices in life, both professionally (through the music she chooses to play), and romantically ( by choosing a boy that her grandfather disapproves of).
The male lead appeared dull and emotionless, but that was due to the nature of his role, also: a young man that had been scared emotionally by the absence of his father, striving to make a name for himself by distancing from his mother's successful career.
Really enjoyable were also the supporting couple, the teachers of the two, which offered an interesting idea of how immature love has kept blossoming through the passing of time and how the silly reasons for breaking up had been resolved by the passing of time.
The supporting cast in the whole was excellent, loved the drummer boy and his ballerina, they acted really well and gave the show a much needed quirky romance.
The music was great, really enjoyed the Gayageum, which I discovered through the show ( I had only listened to the Chinese 'version' of the instrument), and the combination of pop-rock and string instruments was nice and innovative.
All in all, I found this drama very enjoyable, relaxing and not at all sluggish in evolution, and I think it is perfect for those looking for a silly, uncomplicated, music-bathed romance.
I could really compare this drama with the equally entertaining, if not more-so, Playful Kiss, which I absolutely recommend.

Having seen Shin Hye and Yonghwa in You're Beautiful as the couple that never was, I decided to watch this drama to see what the chemistry between these two would be like when faced as a couple.
I'd like to tell you they had amazing chemistry and their love was sweet and made me envious, however it was actually just really awkward to watch. I wasn't convinced these two LIKED each other let alone were in LOVE with each other. I actually preferred it when they hated each other. You'd think that the kiss scenes would bring out SOME chemistry between them? Nope. Nothing, just frozen fish kisses.
The overall acting itself was just terrible. Yes, Yonghwa was supposed to be cold and disinterested and rude but that does not mean he had to cancel out all other emotions. There are plenty of other dramas with his type of character that are able to display a range of emotions and draw me in. However, his performance just felt so flat and monotone. He definitely did not convince me that he had amazing acting skills.
The only thing that I did really like about the drama was the music. The music in the drama was great and managed to show the emotions of the scenes really well.
This is not one that I would recommend or rematch. Unless you want to watch it for the music… go ahead but you are in for a long 15 episodes.

The songs are beautiful, they spoke to me.
Both main characters did awesome job performing together, he certainly have improved a lot!
Though I'd like to see more intensity to the kiss between them. It sure looks awkward. No fun in that. Nor enjoyable.

The entire cast fit in thier roles well and they all meshed well together. PSH showed off her excellent skills as always. Young Hwa did okay enough with his role but I think if the script was better he could have shown off more of his personality. I feel like his character was one dimensional. Min Hyuk was love. He really outshined his CN Blue buddy. The actor that plays Ki Young is soo talented and I wished he had a larger role within the drama instead of 2 lines per ep.
The OST and score is brilliant. So fresh with the mix of traditional and rock. I also liked FT Islands song that is featured.
There is a great chance Id watch this again because I love the cast and music but im not really in a hurry.
Overall, the drama is a big disappointment story/plot wise but the characters and music will help get you through it.
