Even though the main description says that it is about men who have the "nine" curse, that theme only was displayed at the premisses of the drama. Actually, the story focused more on the love stories of the three (plus the small one) brothers. And those love stories were quite entertaining. They were intense, nostalgic, cute and sad, so you get the whole package. Also, the performances were really good and helped with the development of the story. Finally, the ending was nice, but I would have liked if there was another episode to properly conclude the story. So, 8 out of 10.

Plus Nine Boys.

This is a short little drama centered on a family of four men (three brothers and their uncle) who are in their 9th years of their various decades (9, 19, 29, and 39). Apparently, according to the wikipedia page for the show, there is a common Korean belief that the ninth year of a decade will bring more hardships than usual. In this show, there are basically four couples - the uncle, Gu Kwang Su (played by Oh Jung Se), who is a television producer who was once dramatically denied during a marriage proposal ten years earlier. His love interest is Ju Da In, played by Yoo Da In, who was the woman who left him and is now a divorced single mother with a five year old daughter. The oldest brother is Kan Jin Gu, played by Kim Young Kwang, a travel agency employee who has been something of a playboy, and the woman who has been his best friend that he's now fallen in love with, Ma Se Young (played by Kyung Soo Jin). The middle brother is Kang Min Gu, played by Yook Sung Jae, who is a high school student and competative Judo athlete, who falls for an older girl, Han Su Ah (played by Park Cho Rong). The youngest brother is Kang Dong Gu, played by Choi Ro Woon, who is a child actor well known for a very popular role when he was younger, but who has found acting awkward as he's gotten older. There's a little girlfriend for him, as well, named Jang Baek Ji (played by Lee Chae Mi), but his story line is much more about his struggle with his acting than his relationship with her.

This is a very bitter sweet show, as well as being on the short side (it's only 14 episodes long). The love stories are nicely romantic and each one has it's own distinct flavor. Unfortunately, the pacing in this show is uneven, which makes it sometimes feel really draggy, which is surprising considering how much ground they have to cover with just 14 episodes to cover it. My favorite couple was probably Jin Gu and Se Yeong.

Good enough

The 19 years old (Kang Min Gu) was the worst story, cringe bland boring, him and his girlfriend. Then there's the 9 years old who finds himself in a career slump and lost his 8 years old girlfriend to his rival! His story was short and funny since it was just a comedic relief. The other two stories were good. Although I would prefer if it was shorter since the story seemed too thin. Overall, it's a decent watch.

This drama is the sweetest thing. Having Kim Young-Kwang and Yook Sungjae already has me halfway there to watch anything, but the plot promised some fun, light show about growing and learning how to be happy, and I'm always down for that.

The show ended up being mostly about the romantic relationships of the two oldest guys, but I loved every second of it. The little boy parts were the one I liked the least, but it was still fun to watch him getting to grow out of his celebrity pose. Sungjae didn't get much of my attention this time, unfortunately. The romantic plot of the older guys was just so much more interesting, to be honest.

The characters here, unlike in many dramas, didn’t beat around the bush for ages instead of trying to solve their problems and talk to whoever to try and get their happiness, and that made the drama nicely paced and enjoyable.

The drama took it's time to show the relationships of the characters as well as their difficulties in life and how they overcame it, and it was a fun show.

The music wasn't anything special, but it wasn't horrible either? Just plain.

Still, this is so worth watching, specially if you’re looking for something light.

the real thing that I must say about this is this : I had good feeling through it...it touched my heart.

It didnt have rough story or complicated one... It was simple and lovely..

from the first episode, the subject catches me.

actings were very good... I love the couples...i was really into sungjae and chorong... :)

I started without any expectation and finished it with satisfation.

nowadays tvn is rocking, kbs, sbs, mbc must be more powerful ( the stories are the same, why :( )

I suggest you ;)

Based on the premise that something significant happens every ninth year of our lives. This is a great watch. By looking at the poster, I admit I thought it would be boring but it's anything but. It's very well written and executed. The stories for each of the boys were seamless and the acting is on point. I really can't say there's anything I disliked enough to be worthy of a comment because I really enjoyed it.
I think you will enjoy this family drama as well.
ASIDE:)
Because of this drama, I actually took the time to think about all my 9th years over the decades coming up to my present and to my surprise in my case it's true! lolol! Something life changing has happened to me every year before each decade began. 2016 is another 9th year for me and before it ends will probably bring the most significant life change of all so far. Crazy I know.
