I LOVE ITT

Ah, you’re referring to the Heart Killers series featuring First and Khaotung! Here’s a review tailored for that:

Series Review: Heart Killers (First & Khaotung)

The Heart Killers series starring First and Khaotung is a breathtaking blend of drama, romance, and psychological intrigue that leaves viewers utterly captivated. From the very first episode, the chemistry between First and Khaotung is electric, pulling you into a story where love and danger intertwine seamlessly.

What makes this series stand out is its ability to balance thrilling suspense with deeply emotional moments. The plot is layered with twists and turns that keep you guessing, but it never loses sight of the characters’ emotional depth. First delivers a compelling performance, portraying a character with intense vulnerability and determination, while Khaotung matches his energy with equal brilliance, embodying a role that is both

Easy -to-watch and enjoyable enough .

✅️ The plot:
▫️Remind me of The Princess Royal except in this one , our leads get to redo 3 lifetimes.
▫️Fast paced as expected of a miniseries .
▫️Interesting beginning and middle.
▫️The ending was quite lacklustre. A typical c-drama's ending.

✅️ Character, Acting:
▫️I liked the fact that both leads know how to fight and are equally wise .
▫️ It was refreshing to see a new faces as main leads here instead of seeing the same faces in every drama .
▫️ ML reminds me of a more handsome version of P.O and FL reminds me much of Ariel Lin.
▫️ Good acting from FL while ML's still need room for improvement .
▫️Romance and chemistry rating: 8/10.

☑️ Cinematography, Costumes, OST :
▫️Just good for a low budget miniseries.

My conclusion: If you want an easy-watching, tired of watching the same faces in your c-drama, want to watch a revenge drama but has little time for a 40 episodes revenge c-drama try this one, you might enjoy it.

Daily life love, breakup and craziness

Surprisingly, I would like to watch this drama again some day.
It's nothing special tho, nothing spectacular, no vicious scheming or ploting, no accident, no villains or character drived by evil intentions.
The drama is good enough on several dimension to be kind of self sufficient.
Just daily life, love and breakup, how to overcome (or to be overwelmed by) the bad moments, how feelings are difficult to deal with when it's not someone else having them...
Realistic breakups, good love story, lovely partners.
The production's good with no flat or boring moments, the drama is fun (it's totally a comedy even if we could have had as much fun with a little bit less alcohol...) and I'm totally convinced by the actors' performances.
2 OST are not leaving my mind. I woke up 2 days in a row to this beautiful sound on auto repeat in my head and I randomly hum it during the day...
A good enough ending even tho not totally satisfiying. Maybe it was rushed...

Side note : I like the fact that she redefined the meaning of a happy ending as an ending she choose even when she feels sadness from it.
However, I'm not totally ok with the drama perspective saying that love needs to be expressed out loud.
Expressing love while not showing it, is not love.
Sure, it's reassuring and it feels nice to hear those words but I think that without the little daily gestures that shows one's love, Love can't be Love.
The little gestures are the key of a lasting love in my opinion because Love is respect, acceptance, kindness, benevolence, compassion and clemency. Things that can't really be expressed with words.
So I didn't like forcing ML to say it out loud when she obviously saw and knew about all his little gestures for her, about his habits and way of love (from all the secrets they share about their previous relationships and breakups, she would have some cues, wouldn't she?).
While he accepted her as she is, she asked him to change because she needs it.
While saying she keeps falling in the same schema again and again but whatever, she's like that and she accept it, she forced him to say what he never said (or she wouldn't want a relationship with him).
I felt like maybe at some point it was proudness that stopped him before but not with her. With her, it feels more like just long ingrained fears. I would have loved if she accepted his way of love and, while just explaining and showing what she needs from him, let him some time. If he loves her, obviously this kind of man will eventually do it.
I would have been as pleased if not even more if he didn't confess with words as long as he genuinely shows it. Is the drama not being about loving someone by accepting and understanding them even through their flaws?

Delightfully educational

In accordance with the name of the show (เตร็ดเตร่ /tred tray/ means "wandering"), Tay Tawan takes a guest or two and travels around Thailand to various festivals, explores their origin and their history and gives us insights into Thai culture and Buddhism. He takes part in the festivals, interviews locals and obviously enjoys the chance to be a nerd on camera.

I loved that he is genuinely interested in what he learns and how he connects new knowledge to what he already knows -- and how he is able to explain things clearly to his guest (and us) so that we can understand.
(His way of speaking and thinking reminded me of my fellow students at uni, when we studied Latin together, and our colleagues from the other departments like Ancient Greek, Classical Archeology and Medieval History. I think if Tay Tawan and I met in real life it would be delightful to be nerds together and to compare the histories and cultures of Europe and Thailand, and learn from and with each other.)

I loved the poems which introduced each episode (and I hope to rewatch in ten years or so when I know enough of the language to understand them).
Also, the ubiquitous product placements were minimal, in the first few episode I didn't eeven really notice them. And though they got more screentime in later episodes, it was very much bearable. Unlike in the Tred Tray Special episodes by the way, especially from special ep. 3 onwards, where it feels as if half the runtime is given to the avertisements. If you want to continue the learning journey with Tay, I can only recommend the first two episodes of the specials, the rest is only bearable for die-hard fans of Tay Tawan or his guests.

So, great insights into Thai festivals in 13 shortish episodes -- might give us an idea or two for festivals to visit in Thailand!

A Thrilling Start!

When the Phone Rings is a perfect mix of mystery and chills. It kicks off with a creepy phone call that pulls strangers into a dangerous game. Right away, you can feel the tension as the characters realize the caller knows their secrets—and isn’t messing around.

The shocker comes when the game claims its first victim, leaving everyone, in total disbelief. The suspense builds up so well that you can’t help but wonder who’s next.

Just when it seems like we’ll get answers, the episode ends with a cliffhanger that makes it impossible not to keep watching. If you love thrilling mysteries, this is the show for you.

Discount Thanos & the Debtors

Now, hear me out, and this might just be me, but if I had a super ring that basically made me Thanos with hair and less purple, I would not make it so that anyone who have the ring can immediately, without reason, become the most powerful person and drive me out of my house and country. Thank the eff, the finale made some sort of sense of it. Also, for most of the drama, I was convinced these people were allergic to happiness, cuz the eff is up with all that hurt, heartbreak and tears? That boyfriend era lasted like 0.3 seconds and a cheek kiss.

Listen, this was me the moment I saw Jack's face for the first time.
ME: Ew, it’s Vee from Love Mechanics. I hate that dude.
*Jack walks in, slow motion, in a black suit.*
ME: I mean, sure Vee sucked to high heavens, hurt Mark and broke his heart, but like, did Mark die? Personally, I've always like Vee. Haha, nice suit man, I love you dude.

Pfttt. Don’t judge me, I am weak. Petition to burn all Yin’s cloths and leave the suits so he only wears suits, like, forever and ever? Cuz, dude was wearing those suit. HE WORE. Suits were made for Yin.

Oh, and, these people kept going 'Boss this, Boss that, Boss, Boss, Boss.' So much, I thought that punchable excuse for a bad guy's name was Boss, only to find out it was... and I kid you not... Alice. His name this whole time was Alice. No wonder he seemed so lost and confused and got played. Also, was the whole ring thing being some sort of game the rich were playing the best the writers could come up with? Like, I buy it, but I also don't. As reveals go, it felt like an ex-machina to save themselves after they realised that plot device made no sense whatsoever. Oh, well.

Anyway, Joke made crying and being heartbroken felt like an Oscar performance, and he was aiming for gold. Damn, son, leave some of the heartbreak for the rest of us. That thief owes me for emotional damages, cuz he made sadness looked so beautiful, my arse spent episode 10 and 11 crying with him. War deserves like all the awards for just his crying alone.

Listen, this show was a rollercoaster, and I liked every moment of it. From the silliness, to the heaviness, to that unholy episode 10 and 11. Sure, I wanted to boo at episode 11 for bringing back the curse episode 11 nightmare, but I was too busy crying with Joke, I let it slide. And the ending of episode 10 was so traumatizing, I legit forgot about the heavy breathing sexy scene from the beginning of the episode. Poor JackJoke, their boyfriend era lasted like a bed scene and a swing playdate.

I knew shit was about to go down, cuz Dafug you mean, ‘I love you’ right when you leaving for a mission against discount Thanos? This is how people die. The moment Joke said ‘I love you’ I went. Child, would you keep quiet? Don’t jinx it. Well, we all know how that ended.

Random sidenote: Did this people really think I’ll be crying while War was singing that I’m sorry song, when all I could picture in my head was him in that tank-top in the MV? LMAO, good luck with the tears I guess, ain't nobody crying here. But like how talented is War? What can't that man do?

PLOT:
I enjoyed the plot of this. Some things I overlooked, like the Thanos ring thing, how those poor people kept making the most stupidest decisions, comedic timing and etc, but when all was said and done, it was interesting enough to hold my attention and bring me back every single week. I liked the intensity, the jokes, the emotions, and the overall cast. Story-wise this didn't really feel like something new, but the redemption arc with Joke added depth to it, how he was struggling to become a better person, personally I think he was always better person, heart of gold. And also how the good guys, no matter how hard they tried, always made decisions that hurt others. Nothing was black and white here, which made the plot interesting and worth watching. There were some stale parts in the middle that not even the good actors could make interesting, but when everything was added up, the plot held its own well.

CHARACTERS
Joke stole the show for me. Every time he did another character I was so impressed by War's range as an actor. Him as a lady was so beautiful, my arse was this close to asking for beauty tips XD. Jack and Joke's journey was a wild ride, going from friends to enemies, then enemies to friends, friends to lovers. And in-between it all, we went through the high and lows with them. For a second there, I thought it was only going to be all lows, cuz damn, these people knew how to make us suffer. I enjoyed their journey, and as leads, Yin and War carried this show very well, bringing their characters to life. As always their chemistry was chemistrying and that forehead touch might just be the best thing ever.

The secondary characters here also had their own thing going for them. Everyone seemed to have their own problems they were working through, which added to the overall plot, so that was good. I wanted more of Tattoo and Aran, cuz it seemed they were suppose to be a thing, then took an arrow to the knee somewhere along the way. I wanted to know more about Hoy as well, he seemed the only one who didn't have any sort of background.

Rose grew on me. I came to love how graceful she was in defeat. No, her heart was literally breaking from being rejected and I was out here laughing, cuz she took it so well, although she wanted to cry. I was so happy she wasn't one of those delusional female characters who can't take no for an answer. Love her. In the finale, she seemed to have grown out of her rich girl naive phase and understood her circle was evil/jerks , so good for her. But like, rich power hungry people are just the worst!

As for the Boss, he was a typical bad guy with no redeeming qualities or even an interesting background. He came off as greedy, unlikable and just dreaming of becoming a bigger fish than he was. That whole Thanos ring thing seemed like a big deal, but then in the end Rose was like, give me back my ring, and he was like, well, I wasn't the one who stole it. And the whole time, I'm confused, cuz if it's that easy to ask for it back, why her family ran? And why Boss made it look like he basically owed Thailand cuz he put it on his finger? Yeah, that whole ring thing made no sense to me. And somehow, in the finale, knowing it was all a game, still does not sit right with me. Should have been a big plot twist but I can’t feel the payoff.

Joke's father was nothing but a sperm donor in the beginning. I didn't understand why he didn't see himself as being part of how Joke turned out. I mean he was constantly making him feel like he wasn't enough, while the little brother was like everything. And the only time he said anything good was about the Joker thief. I was happy for the father's growth, how he came to apologies as well, and they became family again. When their family was together in the end, I cheered a bit, Joke deserves that so much!

Look, I managed to forgive Tattoo, but for some reason, I can't get over Save's betrayal. Yes, he was also trying to get himself and his evil boyfriend out of debt, but he was directly and knowingly hurting everyone else, just to be free. And these were friends that he pretended to love. Yes, they all did stuff to be free, but I still can't forgive him. Man tried to poison and kill poor Grandma. Heck no. Okay, I sort of forgave him after seeing the finale, but they up and made him the new Boss? The guy who knows how to hurt everyone where it hurts the most? The smart guy who was giving Boss all the evil ideas? Nah, these people don't want peace. Then again those 4 horsemen might know what they are doing putting such a person in charge. I did like him and Hope though, in the finale seeing Hope being stupidly proud and in-love was cute, although I've still only forgiven them halfway.

Now, the Grandma was the real MVP of this show. Woman was legendary. Lol, Joke out there getting his arse whooped and she was holding her own by throwing food. Loved her!

FINALE:
Felt like, after trying to make a very good plot, the finale lost the concept. Cuz this hour and half episode felt like the writers and director were trying to fill as many cliches as they could into the ending. From the cartoonish fights, some out of place comedy, last minutes saves, dramatic over the top scenes, and unnecessary waiting times for the good guys to converse while the bad guy just wait, everything about most of the finale had me going... yaaay mediocre, where's the awesomeness from the beginning of the drama? Yes, having them play the game was interesting, built some tension, but many things had me questioning.

Even so, I was happy for the happy ending, cuz for a moment there, I thought we'd get a sad one and it would ruin my Christmas. That being said, that finale was so convoluted and also somehow long. Legit, most of the fighting scenes had me rolling my eyes, cuz there was so many ways to win over that Cardboard or Carpenter or whatever his name was but they kept just making stupid decisions. Arrrggg. Literally even when he was down, Jack and Joke decided to just not go for the tablet/control thing. Like, literally that was the whole point of the fight. Stupid. And as villains go, I legit did not care one bit for that Cardboard paper character... took me a while to even remember he was that one guy.

I hate basic villains who get so talkative and petty when they get the upper hand. Boss suddenly turned into this childish person with that over the top trying to do evil things. And then suddenly bam, it was all a game, everyone is safe, and instead of making room for Tattoo and Aran we had to watch Boss slow dance with his ghost wife. Yeah, no thanks. Though, seeing that he's probably out there suffering is good punishment.

HAHAHA that ‘Zorry’ scene, I admit was one of the best thing about the finale. I paused to finish laughing before continue, and then when he tried to explain himself, I lost it even more!!

Jack and Joke's engagement? I am calling it a proposal, cuz what else could it have been? I loved how simply and easy it felt. Jack offered the ring, and Joke just happily took it without question. Their happy ending was well deserved/earned. Wish I saw more of them with their daughter. Well, now that the father is back? would they still adopt her? Would Tattoo and Aran give it a go? Either way, I'm going to miss the drama and the cast.

All-in-all, YinWar made the last quater of bls this year fun. The timeline was alive every week with theories which made Mondays not suck so much, and I enjoyed it. The drama is not without flaws, but it's one of my favorites dramas this year. I recommend it to everyone who loves a good bl, watch it, you'd like it. Looking forward to more work from YinWar in the future. For now, I'mma go watch Yin in suits, and War create stuff with clay and grin at my screen like a creep. Bye bye.

A VERY HONEST REVIEW ABOUT SMILE CODE

If there’s one thing this drama does incredibly well, it’s taking you on an emotional roller coaster. It’s the kind of show that keeps you on the edge of your seat, where just when you think you know what’s coming, it pulls you in a completely different direction. One moment, you're on the verge of tears, heartstrings tugged in every direction, and the next moment, you're laughing out loud at the unexpected comedic relief that sneaks up on you. It’s a rare balance that most dramas fail to achieve, but here, the tone switches seamlessly—heart-wrenching emotional moments are followed by humor that catches you off guard, creating a truly dynamic viewing experience.

A Story About the Ups and Downs of Love

At its core, this drama is a beautiful depiction of true love—and not just the romantic kind. It’s about how love can challenge you, heal you, and transform you. It’s also about patience: how true love waits and how it calms you down when the world feels chaotic. Guyi’s journey, in particular, encapsulates this theme perfectly. She learns that love isn’t always about grand gestures or instant gratification; sometimes, it’s about learning to trust, to communicate, to understand each other in silence, and to be there for one another through thick and thin. It's the kind of love that grows slowly and steadily, much like the relationship between Guyi and Liang DaiWen—it's not always smooth, but when it clicks, it feels like everything falls into place.

The roller coaster ride doesn’t stop with just the main romance, though. The show does an incredible job of keeping you guessing—just when you think you’ve figured out a character’s path or the direction of the plot, it throws in a twist that changes everything. The drama moves seamlessly between heart-wrenching emotional moments and surprising comedy, making it unpredictable in the best possible way. You’ll be laughing and crying in equal measure, and that’s part of what makes this series so engaging. The unexpected shifts keep you hooked, never letting you settle into a predictable rhythm.

A Friendship That’s Unbreakable

While the romance is central, one of the show’s best aspects is the friendship—specifically, the unwavering support that Guyi receives from her male friend, Yu Dule. If you’ve ever wished for that one friend who’s always by your side, through thick and thin, Yu Dule is the epitome of that loyalty. He’s the kind of friend who isn’t afraid to speak the truth when needed but is also a pillar of support when things go south. Yu Dule doesn’t judge, doesn’t waver, and consistently shows up for Guyi, reminding us how important it is to have someone who has your back no matter what. Their friendship was one of the series’ heartwarming highlights and served as a reminder of how powerful platonic love can be. Yu Dule is the kind of male friend we all need in our lives.

A Story About Self-Discovery

Another fascinating aspect of this drama is its exploration of alexithymia, a psychological condition that affects a person’s ability to identify and express emotions. This theme is rarely tackled in dramas, and the show does a beautiful job portraying how alexithymia can affect relationships, self-awareness, and personal growth. It’s refreshing to see such a sensitive topic handled with care, allowing for moments of profound emotional exploration. This added depth gives the story more layers and makes the romantic and personal growth arcs even more powerful.

Impressive Performances Across the Board

Now, onto the acting. The emotional highs and lows in this series wouldn’t have been as impactful without the incredible performances by Lin Yi and Shen Yue. Lin Yi is perfectly cast as the stoic yet deeply conflicted male lead. He carries the weight of his character’s inner turmoil in such a subtle way that it makes every emotional moment feel earned. His ability to be emotionally restrained, yet still convey so much, is a testament to his acting skills.

But it’s Shen Yue who truly shines in this series. Her portrayal of Guyi is nothing short of transformative. She takes this character from being a typical love interest to someone you genuinely root for, someone whose growth and emotional journey you can’t help but get invested in. Shen Yue’s chemistry with Lin Yi is undeniable, but it’s her nuanced performance that truly carries the emotional core of the story. She feels every joy, every heartbreak, and every moment of growth with such authenticity that it’s impossible not to be moved by her.

The Perfect Balance of Music and Mood

The soundtrack of the show perfectly complements its unpredictable nature. The music doesn’t just add to the emotional atmosphere—it enhances it. One moment, the OST can leave you feeling deeply moved, and the next, it’s setting the stage for a fun, lighthearted moment. The fact that the intro theme is in English makes it easy to connect with, and it somehow feels both familiar and refreshing. The music doesn’t just serve as background noise; it becomes a character in its own right, helping to carry the emotional weight of each scene.

Final Thoughts: A Series Worth Watching and Rewatching

This is one of those rare dramas that manages to capture the full spectrum of emotions—from laughter to tears, from heartache to joy. It’s an emotional roller coaster that never feels forced, and it’s a series that keeps you on your toes with its constant surprises. Whether it’s the calming effect of true love, the unpredictability of the plot, or the loyal friendship that anchors the characters, this drama offers something for everyone.

And above all, it’s a series that leaves you with a lasting impression, one that makes you reflect on what it means to love deeply, to wait patiently, and to always have someone in your corner. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a drama that mixes laughter with tears, romance with friendship, and depth with lightheartedness.

I don't like the ending

Zao Luzi showed her skills in acting. And I love her when she potrayed a happy and jolly girl.. but here... she showed her versitality. But I dropped it on Ep 5 coz.. a don't like the ending. Hoping for season 2. I think the chemistry with her Male Lead is great and casting .. but sad to find it's an open ending story. Hoping the qriter will justify its ending with a happy one.

This BL changed me.

I honestly have to say that this is the best BL I have ever watched. They made me have high standards for BL ever since I watched them. Even though the story is the classic "enemies to lovers," Ohm and Nanon turned it into a masterpiece. They are the only ones who never made me feel uncomfortable or cringe at all. If u are thinking of watching it it is a MUST, especially when at first I kinda avoided it because of the name and the poster, but believe me, it is so worth watching. You can see in the series that the emotions are real. It feels like they naturally act without a script. And I really like the way they portrayed the parents just accepting it in their own way. I loved Ink and Pa's relationship too!
I kinda wish the actors were still friends but at least I'm going to be happy with the masterpiece they made.
