MBC confirms the airing of episodes 5 and 6 of 'When the Phone Rings'

This week's airing of When the Phone Rings will not be canceled.

On December 10, MBC reassured the viewers of the popular K-drama When the Phone Rings that the airing of episodes 5 and 6 will proceed accordingly. 

Last week, episodes 5 and 6 were supposed to premiere on December 6 and 7. The airing of the K-drama was abruptly canceled due to the impeachment proceedings of the South Korean president. MBC already released the teasers for the said episodes but due to the sudden political news, the broadcast channel had to postpone airing. 

When the Phone Rings revolves around a couple of three years who got together through an arranged marriage. The couple were leading separate lives within their marriage, but their routine was disrupted when the wife was mysteriously abducted. The K-drama based its story on the popular web novel of the same name published on Kakao Page.

Yoo Yeon Seok, Chae Soo Bin, Heo Nam Jun, Jang Gyu Ri, Jin Kyung, and Han Jae Yi are the main leads of the series. 

Yoo Yeon Seok is playing the role of Baek Sa Eon. He is the youngest presidential spokesperson in South Korea. He also came from a family of politicians. Aside from being the youngest spokesperson, he is also known for being a war correspondent, hostage negotiator, and main announcer.

Chae Soo Bin on the other hand portrays the role of Hong Hui Ju, the wife of Baek Sa Eon. She is the second daughter of the top news company. She is suffering from mutism due to an incident when she was a child. She is currently working as a sign language interpreter.

The K-drama is the collaboration work of director Park Sang Woo (The Forbidden Marriage) and writer Kim Ji Woon (Hyde, Jekyll, Me).

When the Phone Rings will air its 5th episode on December 13 at 9:40 PM KST while the 6th episode will premiere on December 14 at 9:50 PM KST. The K-drama will also be available worldwide on streaming platform Netflix.

Aside from the airing confirmation, MBC also released the behind-the-scenes cuts of the K-drama. MBC showcased photos from the first to the fourth episode. 

The photos featured the main leads Yoo Yeon Seok (Baek Sa Eon), Chae Soo Bin (Hong Hui Ju), Heo Nam Jun (Ji Sang U), and Jang Gyu Ri (Na Yu Ri), passionately filming their scenes. 

Before the cameras started rolling, the main leads engaged in discussions with the director to refine their performances in the K-drama scenes. Meanwhile, the supporting cast demonstrated their dedication by actively communicating with the director and immersing themselves in their roles through script review.
